So if it costs $99 to max it out if you're impatient will it not still cost $99 if you go at a slower pace? What's the grinding element like? That might be too early to ask
That's $5,000,000 in in-game cash. I'm not even sure you can spend $5 million in the game. Highest priced jet ski is $300,000 (although you have to pay for upgrades to speed, handling, etc.). So far I haven't felt the need for grinding. Kind of feels on par with Asphalt 7, which has a ton of IAPs but never felt the need to get any in that game either.
Unfortunately not, because I'm still on iOS 5, but I can tell you that it runs and looks great on my similarly speced android phone (HTC Desire Z, it's from Oktober 2010 and came out just a month after the iPod Touch 4)
I really hope it plays on ipod 4G The gameplay video makes it seem similar to the original but it adds more content to it which is good
Here's how it runs on an android phone with comparable specs to the iPhone & iPod Touch 4: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel (These are the lowest graphics settings with only motion blur turned on)
What settings would you recommend for the 4G so it plays well? Does it not play well with original settings?
No idea, I can't play it on my iPod Touch 4 because I don't have iOS 6 on it, but on android at least the default settings seemed fine. If they aren't you can probably change them (I'm guessing that feature is in the iOS version as well)
Plays perfectly on the ipad mini. Looks good, sounds good, and the gameplay has been proven by the first incarnation. More customizations here than the first too, which is a big plus in my book. Only thing is that the actual racing felt too familiar (same as RGP1), and that is not even a bad thing.
Compared to the first game is it pretty much the same thing but different levels and multiplayer? Or are there any new gameplay mechanics that stand out
Riptide 1 is my all-time favorite game in the racing genre. I'm really looking forward to buying this tonight.
The gameplay is similar but there are a lot more tricks that can be done and as mentioned above, more customization of your ride. Also, a more laid-out campaign as well as multiplayer. So while the gameplay feels the same, there's a good amount that was added.
