Crescent Moon Games will be releasing Rimelands RPG, and will be also helping with the development of the game. After playing it, it looks very promising, and we are extremely excited about being involved in the project. -Josh
Crescent Moon picked up this game? So I will pick it up then. Definately landing on top of the "To Buy" list. Please, keep us informed!
Wow, this looks and sounds incredible...and the Ravensword guys are on board? Looks like I have a new most anticipated release...
I too am very excited for this game, BUT.... It MUST have a decent storyline that does not feel like some hashed together mobile game-mini. It would be a shame to set the bar so high on presentation and the game be completely devoid of substance. Sounds like they have the right team players on this project. My hope is that this game be the deepest and most comprehensive RPG on the Iphone created. + Altleast 40+ hours of gameplay + Multiple branching plot paths + Tons of Sidequests that can completed outside of the mainstory + Characters who have attractive and charismatic personality + DAZZLING spell effects in battle and on the field. (We love this stuff!) + Intelligent character creation. Think Oblivion meets NWN on the handheld + Tons of unique and odd items that captivate our interests. ie. The Ruby Rod of Felinus (changes opponent into a cat). Please put your all into this game.
wow..... well - all I can say is that the story is quite unique - its not the typical main character wakes up from amnesia and has to find the evil character who is taking over the land...
And you will pay $40.00 for that game, right? And convince at least 100,000 other people to do the same? Right? Right....?!?
I'm looking forward to this game. Personally this is what I am looking forward to: + At least 20 hours of gameplay. Anything more would be great. + I don't expect multiple branching: I think that's asking for two games in one which would be nice but if it detracts from the length of the game, I'd rather have one decently done path that can be diverged from. + Side quests are fun. I don't know about tons and they don't have to be great side quests, just optional ones in decent number for those of us who like to explore and do everything that is possible. I think it's also a great way to get the player to explore the world, especially if it's beautifully done. + I like good characters and a nice story. That's mostly why I liked the FF games. + Dazzling spell effects? Well, again, not if it detracts from other more substantial parts of the game. Of course, it's nice to have that super, once in the game, crazy special effect during a pivotal moment in the game, but I considered Hybrid Eternal Whisper as trying too hard to dazzle but not giving me other stuff I'd rather have. I think nice, clean, enjoyable effects is good. + I like becoming more powerful through interesting items. However, if turning others into a cat provides no gameplay value at all, I'd rather go for the items that do. + This is probably the most important to me but probably not so to others: I like complexity in the playable character(s). I mean, I like them not to just have standard traits that take no thought or strategy, like the warrior character who just bashes things and that's it. Dungeon Hunter had no complexity even though it had the facade of one. Anyways, just my two cents there. Good luck and I really like the art.
One thing I should mention - with 20-50 hours of gameplay - that would make it extremely hard for a small team to test the entire game before release. Ravensword has about 6-8 hours of gameplay, and it was still very difficult to test all of the way through every build. That said, I don't know what the estimated gameplay time is yet.
There's an interview with us up at TouchMyApps. @Bochu, I think your list is pretty much what were aiming for. Well, more than that actually, but I think you'll be pleased with the game EDIT: I changed the URL to point to my Tweet about the interview, I hope that's ok!
Unfortunately TA doesn't allow linking to TouchMyApps (it's a long story). It's a great interview, though, and worth the effort of hand-typing the address.
