Yeah, you're right, I really shouldn't have put 'updating' in that post... I'll look into it, maybe there's a less-than-obvious way. iPhone Configuration Utility. It's a free download from apple's website, it's great for installing betas, and it logs crash reports.
Let me know if you find a way to do it. It's such a great tool, otherwise. I love how you can immediately spot problems with provisioning files, and the way you can install apps without doing a full sync.
I just want you guys to know that I doubt iPCU is necessary for installing the game, I just needed to use it
I believe you can find info on the Apple website. But it isn't that hard to figure out. Plug in your device, then start up the application. On the left, under library, click on "Devices," then click on "Add" on the upper left corner to add your iPhone/iPod Touch to your library. Click on "Applications" under library, then click on "Add" on the upper left corner again to add the application. Do the same with "Provisioning Profile." You can ignore the "Configuration Profile." Once your done, click on your device on the left hand side (it's under "Devices") and you'll get a similar list of options, but this time arranged horizontally as tabs on the main part of the window. Select the "Provisional Profile" tab, and you'll see the one for Rimelands listed with a button next to it that reads "Install." Go ahead and press it. Click on the "Applications" tab and you'll see a list of all the apps on your phone. All of them will have a grayed out button that reads "Uninstall" (with iPCU you can only uninstall applications that were installed with it). Down the list you should see "Hammer of Thor" with an active button that says "install." Go ahead and click on it. The program will pause while it installs; when it does, the button next to "Hammer of Thor" will read "Uninstall " (and be active). You can go ahead and check your phone/iPod Touch -- the application should be in the first empty spot on the springboard. Note that nothing else has synced, and that the phone has not backed up: all you've done is install the App. Hope that helps...
well I just connected my iPod to my laptop and iPCU is quite helpfull for just QUICKLY installing/uninstalling/... betas
