Hey the same thing is happening to me too! In my case, after I updated Jetpack Joyride. Open, load, GC, crash. Kinda make you wonder if something is wrong on Gamecenter's end. For now my temporary solution is to log out GC, that makes JJ run normally. Do pm me if you find out how to fix it permanently.
I know there's now a way to adjust the sound effects volume but can't see how to mute music while keeping effects. I assume it's not possible? Anyone know? Thanks in advance for any info.
***IF THE 1.1 UPDATE IS CRASHING FOR YOU*** don't delete your game, this is a bug in the maelstrom in 1.1 that occurs for some people. We've actually already fixed it and Rami has told me that the update (1.2) was already approved. It's taking a weirdly long time to make its way through the servers, but it is coming. I'm so sorry about that!!
It's awesome on iPad - and looks like the crash bug has been fixed with a new update - downloading now Edit: Ok so it's crashing even worse now... Doesnt even get thru the loading (version 1.2)
There's something seriously wrong with this game after 1.1. When I go to stormy seas to catch fish (after finishing the game by reaching the bottom of arctic floes) there are supposed to be new fishes to catch. When I do catch them and bring them to the surface, the entire level screws up. I can't kill any of the fish that I fling into the air, and I keep losing money as I kill more fish. I caught about 3 jellyfish on the way up, but on my screen after the fish were out of the water there were 50 jellyfish or so-and there are no cloning jellyfish in the stormy seas. I don't understand what is going on-maybe the new fish contributes to these problems-but the stormy seas is completely unplayable for me since I can't kill any fish by shooting. I'm equipped with the akimbo miniguns, the emperor's suit and the hedjet, and have unlocked the infinity reel and all the fuel tanks. I'm also using the swiss made lure, which has another bug in that to slow the reel while rising, I have to use 2 fingers, not one, which is annoying. Anyone experiencing similar problems?
The two finger bug is ipad only for me. I have an iPod touch too so that's how I know. I get a crash upon trying to enter the maelstrom, but nothing else that weird.
Im using an ipad too, so that makes sense. I suspect the problem is with the storm jelly, since this time I tried again I caught one on the way up but my screen showed about a hundred. Can you do me a favour and play the stormy seas level to see if the same thing is happening to you or it's just me? Go all the way to the bottom, then come up and catch a few storm jellies on the way up (the squarish yellow ones) and see if the game screws up on you.
so, something is majorly slow with apple's distribution system right now. Although it says 1.2 is out, in my experience, it the binary that is downloaded is still 1.1. If you're on iOS6 you can see this by searching for Ridiculous Fishing, hitting update, watching it download the game, and then when its done, the button still says update. If that's happening for you, you're still on 1.1 and 1.2 hasn't actually propagated through the servers yet. Those of you who are experiencing the crashing, can you confirm if this is true?
I downloaded "1.2" and the update button went away but the maelstrom still crashes. I did change ONE number in a file for the game, because I lost all my progress and wanted something to boost my second times progress. I think you know what I did. Did you install a "precautionary measure" to make the endless mode crash if this was done, or if the device was jailbroken, or for any other reason? Edit: This appears gamecenter based. I signed out of Gamecenter and turned on airplane mode and it worked. maybe the friend fishes?
@scorpion008 nope i didn't add anything like that. since your on a jb device, can you verify that the plist says 1.2 in it? thats worrying
The update button is kind of all over the place. It vanished in the actual description then reappeared in the updates tab after restarting the app store for me. Though the fact that the button reappeared is a giveaway, I examined the plist and it's still version 1.1. Edit: After updating a third time, it's on 1.2.
argh i'm on 1.2 and im examining the crash log and it looks like a new crash also related to friend fish. Ugh. It's a real nightmare to test gamecenter stuff before launch properly, but im seeing why thats important now. I think I have a fix but I still have to test it, and then we'll get this out to you guys. i'm really sorry about all this
Well, now I had the Maelstrom crash on me after a record dive to 1200 ft. After rebooting the app, I got my money and the new fish I had seen on the previous dive (this part after a second dive) AND get this, 360 new tweets. They all seem really random.
So on a new game I have found all fish except the one between puffgil and face bug. Is this another bug as this fish should be easy, I remember finding it many times on my previous save?
That was one of my latest catches. They're fairly uncommon. I can confirm they're there in 1.2 though since there were a couple in my last dive. Edit: And not a single one in my dives since this post haha, including my new record 1400m. For comparison's sake, though, I've caught 30 Moray, 66 Mimics and only 11 Steggo.(all are low since I've only been playing for a couple of days. The small number is still pretty significant, though, since I've played enough to unlock everything in the shop etc.
Game just crashes for me now after I just updated. I also get a message in the bottom left hand corner saying "time out in..." With a counter counting down, when it reaches zero the game crashes to dash board or locks my iPad... This never happend previously as the game used to work flawlessly, very unprofessional.
Try signing out of Game Center, tuning on airplane mode, and rebooting the app (kill from task bar and start up again).
the timeout is there to fix a strange condition where you're neither logged in nor logged out of gamecenter. its a bug in Game Center that can happen when you dont have wifi for a really odd reason. The crash is probably the crash that everyone else is getting when you show up in the maelstrom. I just fixed that in code, along with the two-finger boost issue, and we submitted the update to apple. Hopefully they'll expedite it and you'll all be back in the game finding the secret fishes soon again, we're really sorry about all this
