Not a hater at all. Actually a big fan of Eli and TA. Well, it is just that Eli seldom so highly recommends a game and it set my expectations to be really high. While I think RF is excellent, I do not find it any better then a number of recent releases and perhaps I like some of those others even more. To mention a few: Bobbing, SSG2, Dungeon Plunder, Crazy Bill, Year Walk. IOS gaming is an embarrassment of riches...
Here's a question that doesn't have anything to do with the current tread : Do anybody have updates to do to their current apps but it's not opening in the App Store no matter what you do, like rebooting it ? Because it's happening to me right now and I don't know what to do, maybe someone has a solution ???
Got the Editor's Choice on Apple's Featured page (EDIT: in the UK, it seems). Today is a very good day. EDIT 2: Also now in the US!
Ninja Fishing vs. Ridiculous Fishing Today I bought Ridiculous Fishing and also got Ninja Fishing. In my opinion the free game (Ninja Fishing) has superior graphics, more interesting physics, more addicting game play -- and is much more fun. The differences in quality and fun factor between these two games are obvious and significant. I'm perplexed at the high level of enthusiasm in this thread about Ridiculous Fishing, unless it can be explained by the possibility that many of the posters haven't tried Ninja Fishing. Since I've paid a few bucks for the Ridiculous game, it would be a favor if someone could explain why they are enjoying it so much; maybe I'm missing something.
I can never tell if posts like this are legit or just trying to troll. For clarification purposes: NINJA FISHING IS A CLONE TITLE THAT STOLE FROM VLAMBEER I hope things are clear now
Can someone give me the heads up on the best "expensive" weapon? I mistakenly bought the $3k shotgun and wanted to smash it to bits. So far I'm still using the minigun. Should I snag the orbital ray? Auto shotgun? Dave up for the super duper big guns?
The broader-range weapons (shotgun, etc.) tend to hurt me more than they help, if only because they make sniping fish that're really close to jellyfish basically impossible. I like the speed and accuracy of the minigun the most so far, but I might have to shift back to the magnum to see if I can't get faster with it. I was tempted to buy the O. Ray, but it seems like a broad weapon based on its description and I don't know if I'd use it until I actually have hauls big enough to require a massive amount of firepower.
they are both good games. Ninja fishing is filled with iAP purchases which a lot of people hate. Also, for whatever reason people take supreme issue to ninja being a clone, despite the fact that a huge amount of games on the App Store are also clones, including some of the absolute biggest hits. I don't know why you would like ninja and not this one, that's pretty surprising to me.
Uninspiring graphics and done to death swipe mechanics. Not that the shooting mechanics here haven't been done, but the swiping in Ninja Fishing feels like like a lazily thrown together attempt at covering as many bases as possible to line their pockets. I actually played it for quite a while, but I much prefer the beautiful presentation here. Plus supporting originality on the App Store can never be a bad thing. Yes, there are a lot of clones that people enjoy playing, but there are also a lot of clones that do nothing more than waste space and cast a shadow over the more interesting and innovative games around.
Didn't Mario party 1 have a treasure chest game where you dodged fish and stuff too? Inspiration for mechanics runs deep these days with such a lengthy history, not too much anyone can do about that brb calling orbital strikes on some fishies
How can Ninja Fishing be a clone of This Brand new game that just released, when Ninja Fishing was released in August 2011?? Seems to me it's the other Way around... Please educate me
Ridiculous fishing's precursor, Radical fishing, was released by Vlambeer in 2010 before ninja fishing. The latter was released while the iOS port was in development which stalled work and demoralized the dev team, which then found second wind and released the best fish-exploding game ever. Knowing is half the battle. GO JOE
Vlambeer released a free Flash game called "Radical Fishing" back in 2010, which "Ninja Fishing" used as a basis and ripped its gameplay from wholesale. That's where the 'stealing' accusations come from. Hope this helps clear things up!
The orbital can snipe well. Tap the screen to snipe hold down the screen and the range can hit practically the whole screen
That sounds awesome. Thanks! I'll definitely be saving up for that once I snag the oil drum. I figured it was just a slow-firing screen-clearer with a long reload time, but I'm happy to be wrong there.
