Same thing... Was going to eat something but sat down to play it for the first time and an hour and a half just went by without noticing... Been looking around those wonderful surface visuals, the fish while you go down, upgrades and all. The fun part is the shooting part, diving is fun too but a slider would be a great addition. Another fantastic game in a great iOS week (Le Vamp and NightSky are also awesome)
Went ahead and got it - even though it's tilt only... there really wasn't much else that caught my eye last night (aside from 2 other games...) - so I had a couple extra bucks. That, and hearing that they're going to focus on updating SCB now that they're done with this pushed me over the edge. Damn I can't wait to play it on the 4inch screen... =oD
I don't think I've ever cursed as vehemently at a video game (outside of perhaps SCB... coincidence? I think not...) as I have at those @&$*ing piranhas. Get away from my line, you damn dirty fish! Blasting them apart is oh so satisfying... even if they do fork over less than $10, the stingy little brats.
Thank you so much everyone, thank you so much for how amazing this launch is panning out. Please feel free to ask us anything you're wondering about.
great game, tilt controls work well. It is a bit cumbersome to hold the iPad up to tilt, and then put it down to use the guns. But I'm having fun while doing so! Will try on my iPhone 4 later, assume it's much less cumbersome, so that may be my go-to device for this.
In spite of hating SCB after all the hype and praise it got from TA, I went and succumbed to the hype machine again with Vlambeer but... ... this time I'm not disappointed As has been said: controls are spot on, polish is to a very high sheen, and gameplay has just enough depth and skill combined with the right amount of sheer silliness that it's very enjoyable, and the unlocks are paced well to give the game a swift enough sense of progression that mitigates the intense repetitiveness of the design. That said, it is an intensely repetitive design and here's where I see the clever meta design in this project: - Glad it has the infinite mode on principle, but, in all likelihood, this game will be over for me in more ways than one before the weekend is done. It's not even 10AM and I'm already most of the way through the "campaign" and fun as it has been this morning and last night, the novelty is going to wear off. And I'm okay with that - $2.99 for the limited amount of game time here truly is insane by app store standards for this simple of a game, and, yet, it's a perfectly fair price for the gaming that is here anywhere except the crazy land of iOS and Android gaming. I don't hate on IAP the way so many do - it's a fact of economics that the app store all but requires it because of the standard $0/$1 entry fee and devs and publishers have to make money somewhere. If you don't want every game to have variable pricing built in, you actually will have to pay $3 for simple games and $5 for more complex games, and $10 or more for "real" games so that everyone pays equally and fairly instead of a few paying a lot for all. I'm glad to see this game doing as well as it is already because it shows, at least in limited cases, that there is an audience for short, well produced, self contained games at a fair price.
I purchased it, but won't get to try it until later. I look forward to finding out if the hype is justified.
No it's not, it's a sequel to radical fishing which came put before ninja fishing so ninja fishing is the clone here.
Yes, you definitely should fork out the cash. The graphics and music are a lot better, the shooting mechanic is a lot more fun and fluid than the Fruit Ninja-esque swiping Ninja Fishing uses, and the controls are awesome. All that, and Minigun > Katana. So there's that.
I don't do tilt games. I don't hate on devs that "borrow" ideas if they bring something new to the genre. My take is that the better game should hopefully end up doing better. I downloaded this game on my iPod. Played for an hour, then downloaded it to my iPad. Played now for "who knows how much time". I am really enjoying this game and hope the devs end up making more profit than the cloning "ninja" game only because this game really is worth it.
That's not impressive for a game that is perfect in almost every aspect. I'm sure it is going to be a top 3 game really soon.
Hopefully bumping oz and sonic...great games deserve great amounts of downloads. That sounded better in my head. Is that even the right way to say that!!?? Anyway, you get what I mean...I love this game!
