Thanks! I'll check them out. We can go back to talking about Rico now, sorry to hijack the thread with my ignorance
Trailer looks mighty nice and your comments are also reassuring. Quick question, when you upgrade your skills, say with the jetpack, can you go back to previous levels and reach areas you couldn't before metroidvania style? I seem to really enjoy those. They tend to feel richer, with added depth.
D'ahhhh just a BIT too big for mobile download! I'll pick this up when I get home, you guys have got my mouth watering here!
This game is more level based -- haven't tried to go back and rerun earlier levels, though. You can complete a level (get all the gold coins) on the first run, so my guess is that no, you won't access new areas as you gain powers. If you want a Metroidvania, try Vergence -- it's pretty excellent.
Ha Ha Ha, sorry, I'm just thinking of all the people who aren't playing this game and are spending their money on stuff like virtual donkey food in Freemium garbage instead. I'm laughing because I'm not you. Such a great game. Don't bother playing it though, because it has no pointless IAP nonsense that you love so much. And again, Ha Ha ha.
This is so true that it hurts. At last check, Zip had 15 people on the leaderboards. I know it only came out today, but still...15, and most of them are people from here. I'd be surprised if the numbers for Rico were much better.
Like SQ0 said, play till Level 7 in World 1 and you realize this isn't just great...it's fantastic. What happens when you play Level 8? You come to the realization that you're a false and should be burned and died if this doesn't become a permanent part of your iOS collection forever. Cannot stress this enough right now: YOU.NEED.THIS.GAME!
Haha, silly metal-related humor (for anyone wondering, if you've seen me post that on more than one occasion, no...my regular English is fine, it's supposed to read that way >_>). Seriously, for anyone who's complained about the state of the App Store over the last couple of years, that list I made earlier. Get on it. Every last one of 'em.

Is there an echo here? I should note that the game does open up more after level 7. It's still not a Metroidvania, but there is some exploration.
Thanks guys. I will probably buy this anyway because it still looks good. I'll check out that other one too. It was released while I was on a gaming hiatus so I totally missed it.
Really tempting but I feel like I should save for Badland, TOB, The Witness, and Fez that are still to come.
