I was waiting for this to see if I should get it or the 3ds version, guess I will be getting the 3DS version. Would rather pay $10 more to have an enjoyable game then this IAP online only garbage.
Game Impressions The worst is that you can't even play the game beyond the tutorial because of the glitch mentioned above. I find it unacceptable in a 10$ game. As for the internet connection, it's very useful to have a portable device if you have to be online all the time. Even with a mobile wifi, like I have, it's hard to play when you take the train, for example.
Really disappointed since I was excited to buy this game. It's not even on the App Store anymore!! Dammit Sega... your greed is despicable
Played the game on 3DS, and loved every minute of that. Now, this release smells like accidental, since it was pulled (or they realised the servers can't keep up the bandwith). As for online only, this is complete bullshit. I will only purchase the game if they remove that "feature".
I hope that sega taking out the game from the store it's for them to fix it and hopefully take out the always online from the game. If they also take out all the iap crap, since the game already costs 8, it would be great also but that's me dreaming too much.
The pull is definitely a good thing guys. However it may ONLY be to fix the corrupt save or connection/server overload issues. So basically, they'll try and let you play it. That's it. If they remove online I'll dive right in but I doubt that. Sega seems to have the mindset of "protecting our investment" rather than "happy customers."
It's not the online-only feature that you should be worried about... The game is now a $10 freemium title, complete with IAP currency (required for some unlocks), gatcha-style item dispenser, and merging cards to level-up another card!
LOL, they hit every checkbox with this one: - Ridiculous price tag. - Online only with a single player game? Is this a joke? - IAP in a game that sells for this much?! - So buggy on release that it is unplayable? Oh Sega....
Well, my main idea behind the online only and dual currency "feature" is that they give out premium currency with the main game, but they do not want people to cheat, hence they store player progression on servers. Unfortunately, I really do not give a drek about iap costumes and cards, I would play the game for the story and revised game mechanics. But that's totally against for being online only.
Interesting. There doesn't appear to be a new version, so it seems like any changes they've made must be server-side.
