Is this anyone on the forums? http://revoltgame.blogspot.com/2010/11/9710-points-in-survival-hardare-you.html
Are you talking like in an update for revolt or completely different game? If revolt- to be included in next update?? Surely you can spare those details
Someone mentioned in another forum that there may be online multiplayer for this game someday... any details on that? If it was truly online (as in, not Bluetooth or local wi-fi or what gun bros does) it would be an instant purchase for me! I can picture things like team deathmatches and capture the flag being really interesting in a top-down shooter...
Yeah, for the amount of multiplayer requests for the game, there is NO way we are going to NOT have multiplayer. Things that will come first are 1.2 update which will co-release with LITE version, and then the price will rise. After that will be multiplayer. We have tons of cool ideas for game types beyond the standard DM, TDM, CTF, etc. During the same time we will be developing Revolt2, which is going to put Revolt to shame and blow minds. I'm currently developing 2 other games and also working 40 hour work weeks animating for a local company, and workout 7 days a week running 1+ mile a day. Yes, I love doing this stuff, and am not quite sane...
Thanks for the quick reply and all the hard work you are doing on this game! My money is as good as yours now... Can't wait for the updates!
But that's good news! ...You'll continue to support Revolt1 after the release of the 2nd one right...?
Yeah, Revolt2 will be a ways off, and carry on the story of the 1st game, so there will be lots of time for updates while its being developed. It probably won't be started until Jan-Feb of next year, and will take who knows how long. Its also going to be 3GS+ fo sho, so make sure you're good for Santa.
The update is out in the U.S. The heartbeat sound is definitely quieter, and I've already picked up a health pack. The fork-lift robots seem much more aggressive.
Oh, so there are health kits? That fork-lift guy was extra nasty now! He comes after you at full speed (I didn't initially get he was so fast)! You can't buy health in the shop of Survival, can you? Since Night Mode doesn't have its own scoreboards, do you get extra points plying in that mode or is there absolutely no pay-off to engaging on this more challenging mode?
Played with the update last night. The lag is a bit better but not as improved as I expected considering the toned-down explosions (playing on an iPod Touch 2G, so that doesn't help). I think I may hold off on playing more until the 1.2 update comes out (hope it's soon!). Great to have a developer so devoted to the game. All of the things you have coming up in the updates sound awesome.
Nice update but I'm surprised/disappointed that they did not address the lack of a save/resume feature. To not have it in the story mode, where missions can take upwards of 15 minutes, is bad enough. But to also not have it in survival where you could play forever (if you're good enough) is just unacceptable for a game of this type. There's no good reason to have the game not at least save between rounds. Too bad because everything about the game itself is pretty solid.
Problem with saving survival is that it's easily exploitable, going bad in arena? force kill revolt and start again at start of arena. The only way out would be to save complete game state and when starting game again asking if you want to continue game (yes/no), if no, save game is cleared. Guess we could look into that for next release but as there's quite a lot of game state it aint trivial.
Right, while I actually DO prefer your current system, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. So how does Night Mode effect scoring?
It doesn't at this point, although its an idea to make separate leaderboards and make that a Survival option not a game option.
