what kind of multiplayer? hopefully more then just co-op and hopefully its internet so i can play people around the world instead of just local.
Probably true. Today I've been playing a lot and I'm still on level 4. Its been kicking my butt but mostly dying from the gas. I have to learn to shoot from a safer distance. I say again....its a really nice game.
Since there is no antidote for it, I think that the gas should be like the poison in Solomon's Keep: It can't kill you, but it can put you in the "one hit and you'll die" range. Currently, it seems a bit unfair that all you can do is watch hopelessly as your life bar drains down to zero.
Yeah... and it's actually very easy to implement, communication-wise... The day before yesterday, I lectured on GameCenter programming (with a self-written Pong client with 2/4 players over GC) so I've played with GC programming quite a lot. During making the game, was astonished how well GC behaved and how little in-game lag there was.
Whats the deal with Voice Chat? I've heard GC supports it. But I can only think of one game (Cro-Mag Rally) that supports it.
Also very easy to implement. If anyone is interested, I can publish the 2/4 player Pong sources right away (they're public domain as they've been written for my iOS programming courses); I've implemented both public and private voice channels in them with an interface to quickly switch between a private and the public channel. I will publish a full tutorial on p2p gaming programming with GC later, but can upload the sources right away, should anyone be interesed in them (and in a 2/4 player remote Pong via GC). The reason for the (current) lack of GC's direct p2p play/voice support might be it's both very new and without a decent documentation. Apple, for example, doesn't have any example code demoing GC's MP communication (only the old GameKit stuff in GKRocket and GKTank). The only usable source code demo I could find was GCPing, but it isn't a game either. I'm pretty sure it'll take off in the future, though - it has a very easy programming interface and is much faster than I thought before actually writing some games on it.
Here're the sources: http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/Pong.zip I'm working on a quick explanation on what's in the ZIP file (how the files are grouped etc); stay tuned!
Being able to bring over our character from single play to co-op multiplayer would be great. I don't know if its realistic but here's what (in my opinion) would be best for Multiplayer. Game Center match making co-op survival with single player character CTF Mode Team Death match Death Match Voice Chat Ranking/Upgrades for Competitive Modes (Like Modern Combat)
Oh, if you're talking about being on fire....Stop, Drop, and ROLL! Don't they teach that in school anymore?
Cripes! I remember reading of this earlier in the thread and had completely forgotten about dropping/rolling helps. Will put it too good use know. Thanks.
@Graphicalgeek hey I finally beat the game but I did not get the ending are u going to update the app or make a revolt 2. I wanna know that happens next. O yeah awsome cutscene you should add more like in between levels.
Oh, I really love this genre! I'll definitely give it a try! By the way is there a chance to add an auto target system or something similar?
Anyone having an issue once in game (level 4) and hit the menu button and then return to find you can't fire any weapons but only can toss bombs? This happened to me twice and very close to the end of the level each time. Happened a third time but used the bombs and finally finished the level. Sorry if this is a known bug (on the fix?) and can't remember it being mentioned. Edit: This is happening in level 7 also. No ones noticed this?
I would think that would ruin the game.. It would be far too easy, like playing an FPS on a Playstation or an XBox.. The meat of the game, after all, is hitting your enemies and avoid getting hit yourself. With autoaim all there would be left is avoiding incoming fire and just pressing the shoot button mindlessly...
I just completed it as well, and would like to know the same. It ends like a sequel is in the works but will that be an update, IAP, or whole different app?
can we have any details regarding multiplayer? Also, are there any plans to add more diverse guns. The ones I have used so far seem a bit too similar to one another. Add some gimmicks like homing bullets, bullets that bounce off walls, delayed exploding bullets like a needler in halo, or piercing bullets. I haven't played the game too much so I apologize if gun diversity is already present. I didn't see too much of it in my brief time playing the game.
