I know there's plenty of RSS generated fake-blogs out there, that will blindly copy+paste everything that's posted to the news here. That's a given. Everyone's out for a quick buck, and spambots are prevalent. What I'm worried about, though, is people taking "quotes" from your post, and .. rather than saying "This is a quote from the TouchArcade review", just plop it into their review, say nothing more about it, and pretend it's their own. My blog entry for today The basic gist of it being that FamousWhy.com (a really dodgy* looking site to begin with) took chunks of the SpikeDislike review, and crammed them into their own "review". I might be right in saying that this is a whole new level of dodgyness. Not too lazy to build a site, not too lazy to ask for interviews, but just can't be bothered to write the reviews. .. or link to the original reviews. .. or even mention the original reviews. *by Dodgy I mean that the site looks entirely like an RSS generated fake-blog...
Wow, that is pretty blatant. Possibly PM Hodapp or Arn with this, although I'm confident some mod will see this and do it anyway; if one of them don't see if themselves anyway. Still, any publicity is good publicity... right?
