Stealers Steal, the worst stealth action game ever is currently free. To celebrate (not really :) ), we are hosting a contest with 2 iTunes gift cards: one $10 card for a reviewer chosen randomly using this and one $15 card for the most brutally honest and complete review (it doesn't have to be in favor of the game, seriously!)

So, download the game here, post your honest (we'd rather you tell us our game sucks if it does, you'd save people from spending money on it and hating us for their precious lost dollar!), review on the app store then post your username and review here. Winners will be chosen this Friday at 23h GMT.

The previous contest is here if you want to check it out!
The TA discussion thread is here

WARNING: The game gets tougher and tougher as you go! Nobody could finish it up until now, may be you could, but I doubt it!
    Have fun!

Honestly I like this game. It's way to hard for me though but that's another reason I like it.
At first controls threw me for a loop but then I figured it out and can't stop playing

Hi Younesouhbi. I wanted to go the extra mile with this one, as I felt like Stealer's Steal had some really good concepts, but could definitely use some improvement to capture their potential. Here's the full review, the condensed version is on the app store as Modus_ataraxia (I think).

So, the lack of copypaste won't let me get all of it in there, but I also wanted to bring up what I thought was the most important thing that I couldn't cover in the review.

    HUMOR

The whole reason I clicked this link was because you called out your own game as being the worst stealth game ever. You need this style of humour present in your game. I saw it once, it was fleeting. When I got caught, the character was hilariously smug, saying something like "Whoops, I was just here for the salad bar", or something equally ridiculous. So I know you can do it, because I see glimmers of hilarity in your work and in this thread.

Why not go all out, with the character commenting on parts the game that you didn't think were particularly great? A casual remark about the 8th level in a row being another grey area, or wondering who is leaving all these random piles of money around would be great for the atmosphere of the game. The character moves like he's on skis? Own it! Clues are too hard? Mock the player, or better yet, the puzzle itself! Break the 4th wall if you must. Just inject your game with the same foolhardy essence you showed me here, and it will stand out with its own clear identity.

Anyway, I think I spent entirely too long on this, but hopefully it will be of some help to you. The game is good, it just needs some spit-shine in the right places, is all. Best of luck with your development, Younesouhbi. Cheers. ;)

Reviewed as Tronnasaurus on the Canadian App Store with the review title "Metal Gear?!".

My only critique since you are asking is that the level design can be a bit repetitive as you go on, but in a way I can see this being necessary to keep things simple and clean, and I know its a natural problem with all games as it costs money and time to make things wild and new constantly. Nonetheless, its a fun little game and as you say, it gets quite challenging. Best of luck :)

I played as far as I could before losing interest.
This game is so buggy that I Literally felt the buggers crawling under my skin!

Firstly, after finishing a level, you hear the sound of your money total earned.
But, when starting the next level, the sound continued until I completed that level.
    Now that was annoying!

Secondly, a few levels later , my man decided to stop running and slowed to a very slow walk.
Of course time ran on , while my man walked on and I ran out of time.

Thirdly, I could not reach the gold in one room. Two tables were placed at right angles to each other.
Try is I might, I could not get between the tables to pick up the gold. I tried going around the other way,
every which way but came away empty handed.

Fourthly, in one level, I tried using a key on the wrong door and from that point on could not open
the last door to get the right key to exit the level. I looked everywhere I could to find a key to proceed and
could not. Was the key in the safe?

And lastly, though not a bug, how about having the game auto-rotate to accommodate the way someone
wishes to play the game. I had my iPad plugged in for charging and really would have preferred to play the game
with my charger cord on the right side of my unit.

The graphics and music are not amazing but are certainly serviceable.
I am not a big fan of tilt to move so I would like to see an option to have
    a control stick instead.

Thanks for the opportunity to try out your game.

    Thank you for your feedback!

Thanks for your reviews and feedback! It's all useful...

@Jayg2015: the game becomes very easy if you buy and use items. The point of difficulty is knowing when to risk it and when to play it safe in order to retire with the most gold possible.

@modus_ataraxia: thanks for the long review. You raised a lot of good points and i'll certainly take them into consideration for the sequel: more puzzles, more variety and color in level design, more humor and better movement. Got it!

@myers_37: more veriety in level design would certainly be great but it was either 15 awesomely designed levels or 40 less awesome ones. This is our first game and the budget was tight. Next time may be! Thanks!

@gemineye62: buggy is the one thing no one has ever said about our game but alright! The sound problem we've never ran into, i'll check it out. As for the character slowing, if you tap, you can switch between walking and running, it's not a bug. While walking, you cannot be heard by guards and sound sensors. As for the unreachable gold, you need to use a graviton (buy it from the shop, game shop not iap) to bring the gold to you, it's not a bug. As for the key, yes, a key can be in a safe, if you want to make it easy on yourself, buy a hackr or a master key from the shop as an alternative. As for the autorotation, you're right, it should be in there, it's just that we tried doing it and it turned out not as easy as it seems. As for controls, there is a joystick option available from the settings, i'm surprised you didn't find it.

    Thanks again!

    Review:
like it's said this game is hard but on a rewarding well.
The level require of your full concentration to solve them but at the end it's worth it. I'll like to see more depth on the artsyle.

I'm glad I was able to help in some small way. You seem to have a genuine issue here, and it looks like you're being honest about how you want to go about fixing it. That's a big plus to see from a developer. If you have more questions, or would like some insight into anything else that might help to improve your game, I'm a PM away.

You practice humility, so you deserve some results. :)

The review was far from accurate but luck has spoken! You win a $10 iTunes US gift card! Congratulations! I'll PM the code in a moment.

As for the other prize of $15 iTunes gift card, no review was complete enough to cover the whole game and show its "hidden" potential, even though Modus_ataraxia was close. The game has 40 levels and each level introduces new obstacles and new gameplay techniques, all those who reviewed didn't go past the level 14 out the 40 levels and no one could finish it (check the stats here) which means that you all missed a lot to really formulate a complete review but thanks for the attempt. Just so you know, the game offers more than you guys have seen, you can check the guide below to have an idea:

To show my gratitude to Modus_ataraxia for the long review and its good points, you'll get our next game for free, it's due in November. Thanks!

    Thank You all for participating!

I wanted to thank the developers for the gift.

It was luck and nothing else that I won and someone with a better review did not.

Yes, I did come away with egg on my face on this one. I did try to tap to make the man walk faster but
must have been off a bit. I also did not play far enough to note that gold could be collected with an item
acquired later on in the game.

I do hope that some of the feedback by those who played the game was helpful to the development team.

    Thank you again!

Apparently, someone not very happy with how this contest turned out, deleted his review and replaced it with a 1 star review. Thanks! This has got to be my last contest here. I feel sorry for humanity sometimes...
