Sweet, thanks for the heads up, Pete. I downloaded this from the Canadian App Store and found it pretty fun. I didn't get very far into it as I was waiting for the worldwide release, I'll be interested to hear what people think of it.
There's a total of 74 leaderboards, but as of now there appears to only be one person on each. Anyone understand how the boards work? Or maybe ey aren't turned on yet?
Ok. Thought I had a real winner from Rovio here. Just finished level 11... 60 minute timer to wait for level 12. (it's from "Level 11 studios". Looks like their name is all they gave us without freemium BS)
Oh no! I havnt played this since it was first soft launched. It's been through a couple of updates since then. They must have added the timer stuff because it was never there in the early build. Ugh. I was hoping it was going to be released as a premium game. What was I thinking I guess.
I'm confused by what happened. I finished level 11. I clicked on level 12. It said "60 minutes to rebuild" or something like that, and started the dreaded countdown 59.59, 59:58... I closed app in frustration, and came here to vent Went back to app, to try to perfect other levels, but to my surprise there was no longer a wait on level 12. Now I am advancing without timers. So...I'm not sure what happened there.
Lol. Weird. I'll boot mine up and see what mine does. I think I have to start all over anyway from what the description says in the update, so I'll be doing the same levels as you.
Yes. It's worldwide now. Anyway... I'm at level 16 now. No timers....so idk what that was. Anyway, what I did notice is that after a but it no longer allows you to use videos for checkpoints. So, save your coins till when you really need them.
Lazer, I assume you've completed level B1 (Spring Loaded). I believe the timer was how long you'd have to wait before being able to skip past the 'extra hard' boss level, which meant that completing the level rendered the timer moot. I'm also assuming that another timer will crop up if/when you come to another Boss level, I'm not certain on that though. As for the leaderboards, they're a bit of a mess. There seems to be a duplicate set of leaderboards, if you scroll down you'll come to another 'welcome' leaderboard which I think is the start of the proper boards. I and many others have some scores on there from when I last played the game in July, but how the scores are counted and's where's this 'welcome' level, I couldn't tell you.
Gave the game a try. Ended up completely hating it and deleted it. I don't mind hard games at all. I've beat the original NES TMNT, Battletoads heck even Fester's Quest many times over (along with a myriad of other hard games). Games in 1986 didn't have gimped control schemes. We had dpads and buttons (or at least a Joystick/Paddle with a button if still rocking the old Atari 2600). If you died it felt like it was your fault for just not being good enough. If the controls were just bad no one celebrated that, it was just a bad game (looking at Superman 64). So obviously the game isn't for me. Had I not enjoyed Whale Trail I probably would have pass this up completely. YMMV.
Ftr, I think the controls are perfect, and every death has been my fault. If you're going to one-star a game, I think the people viewing this thread deserve to hear why you hate the game.
Fun game. I just wish there was a small "height radar" in the upper right side of the screen so you would know what's coming ahead. As it is now, it's just all course memorization. Not as fun as it could be. Plus I wish I could set the start and restart buttons down on the lower right so I could hold the iPad and play with just the right thumb. I keep returning to the familiar thumb grip but then have to hit a button in the middle to start the next level. First world problems I suppose...
Kick ass soundtrack. I would kill for an endless see how far you can get mode, with that it'd be a keeper. I'll see how many levelsI I can pass for now though
There's a "daily challenge" level which seems to be endless... At least up to the 66m where I reached I find the 3-star completion a bit too easy. Just played for 45 minutes and 3-star completed the first 10 levels + A1 (or A2) level. Just 7 more levels to unlock. It feels too easy... Btw, what are the currencies for? Gold = unlock checkpoints (or do it via ad video), or retry more in the daily challenge. And the other? They seem like bolts. What are they for?

Lazer Kat Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2013 2,596 0 0 #59 Lazer Kat, Oct 23, 2014 The first "daily challenge" level becomes available just after completing A8. The mode may be endless, but the amount of times you can try it daily aren't (sunless your wallet is). Bolts give you temporary stat upgrades.
