What is your favorite type of retro game for your device. (iPhone or iPod Touch)
By retro, I mean the ones like from Atari, etc made into games for your iPhone.

-Vector Tanks is quite awesome, though the controls are tough to get used to for me.

-Pacman is my favorite retro arcade game, though I only have the lite version it is still awesome.

-I recently downloaded an invaders type game called Alien Attack for $0.99 and it is quite awesome. Though the controls are not great, it is still decent and true to the Invaders type game.

    Questions:
So what is your favorite retro arcade (or just arcade game)?
What retro arcade game would you like to see show up on iPhone?

Note: Jailbroken games do not count toward this topic discussion.

    Edit: [app]First Contact[/app] too, not to forget [app]Blue Defense[/app] and [app]Blue Attack[/app] of course:)

I actually like heli 2 a lot btter and would lend itself to an iphone game really well. Tilt to move, shake to jump, and tap to fire. It would be really easy to port if someone could do it right.

Also some people should check out upsi runner, it is a retro-style game and is really fun.

    Definitely Vector Tanks!

Other in the runner ups for me include Spheriods (though it needs an update for high score and some better sound effects)

Krypton Egg is also my fav arkanoid like game on iphone so far, retro sprites and music

So far I've collected the following:

    Pole Position
    Ms. Pac-Man
    Pac-Man
    Space Invaders
    Missle Command
    Centipede
    Vector Tanks

I enjoy playing them all but i would say that both Centipede & Missle Command are the best of the bunch. With Vector Tanks taking a close second. Also it's hard to not play a few rounds of Ms. PAC-MAN.

Aside from Centipede, I'd say the best retro game is Alien Swarm--a Galaxian clone, and a good one at that!
No one ever mentions it, but it is one of my favorites. There is also a lite version.

I would love to see Smash TV, one of my favourite games ever

iDracula has proved that the controls etc would work so here's hoping!

Yes, Vector Blaster is really a retro gem. It's a shame that it is so little known.

I've played so many games in the last two months I'm struggling to put my mind around what I'd consider retro. Vector Tanks was pretty cool once I figured out how to play it. Snake XT is decent, and I don't even particularly like the "growing snake" genre of games. Some retro games I don't care for: Nicky Boom (I did like the Pocket PC version), Jack or 100 Ways To Barbecue and Adventure.
