Thought I'd get back to the forum having played more of the game... I'm now at about 10 hours play - and almost 7 of those hours have been spent in the story missions. A lot of time spent just exploring as well obviously. Apparently I'm at 45% completion so still got a way to go. I've been picking this game up for quick plays over the past week or so, but those quick plays can quite often lead to much longer sessions. It's very easy to dip in and run around causing chaos or exploring for a few minutes, and equally easy to spend much longer sessions going through missions. And the missions continue to be amazingly weird, wonderful and varied, with so many references to 80's pop culture / video gaming that it's just insane. It's unusual for such an arcadey, 8-bit game to have so much depth and playability - and all for a one off payment, no IAP and at an amazing 14.4mb install size. I appreciate it won't be for everybody but, give it a chance and it may just steal your heart...
I finally bought the game today.. Partly based on your review.. Dang, that was the fastest dowload in history.. Now, I gotta go play.. See ya later..
Super fun! Juicy stats galore, and TONS of other crazy things, as have already been mentioned. Very unique gameplay, and loving the story mode. So deep, so shallow, so awesome... No regrets, what so ever, for this one... Currently my favorite game. It did take about an hour of gameplay for me to get comfortable. I replayed the first 2 or 3 missions and dug around in the menus and settings until I became familiar with controls, interface, maps, etc.. VERY worthy game, once you reach your personal level of comfort. Ipad Mini-2
Since I have only played on iOS, I can not be some sort of authority.. but.. This game really lends itself to handheld devices.. The gameplay is just so crazy and hyped up, it belongs right there in your hands.. But I WOULD really like to try it with a controller.. or on console..
