The IAP seems fair with lots of choices, it seems the doubler is the most tempting to me and the unlimited fuel which would then basically make it a premium game. Although I don’t feel at all like I need to get anything really if I just wanted to play for free and watch some optional ads. Gameplay seems really nice too, reminds me of old 80s arcade game Scramble (no bad thing) with the water and fires being bombs and ground targets. We wanted the gameplay in #rescuewings to have more depth before adding more stuff. The plane already did a backflip when trying to go left, so we made it so the bomb is thrown in an upward direction during the flip. This opened a lot of new possibilities! I purchased the infinite fuel and coin doubler to speed up my currency gains but I’m still finding the price of new planes a bit high. Some of the missions I’m on seem very hard to finish without a speedier and more agile plane, especially when trying to fly under a rock to put out a fire. The adventure mode in fun, but I get to a point where it’s very hard to progress without a better plane as well, and subsequent runs just lead to frustration and boredom. I understand upgrading to better planes is part of the game, but rate at which coins are earned is just a bit too slow imo. On to the competitive mode. I don’t quite understand how I’m losing matches when my my opponent crashes and I make it through without a crash. Seems like they should lose in that case. It’s possible I just don’t understand how the scoring works for that mode. Could you explain how it works? Thanks in advance! Rescue Wings is definitely well made and fun to play but there seems to be a bit of tweaking that could make it even better. We've experimented a lot on the balance during beta in the Netherlands. During most soft launch cycles people were swimming in coins so we've upped the pricings by a lot and see how that works. Imo the daily missions should earn a lot more money to make it more attractive to come back for more play. A lot of Rescue Wings is also improving your mechanics, that's the thing I personally love most and fought for to keep in. Some things are hard but practice and experimenting will get you further. For example, some levels have more water than is needed so it's possible to skip some.. but this can be measured against the fact that holding more bombs decreases your speed so it's a tough choice sometimes. Granted, all time-challenges will get easier with a better plane. Adventure mode is pretty linear at the moment imo. The next is all future talk, but we want to keep supporting the game for a long time, adding more mechanics to the game that'll change up the play but will not necessarily make it more difficult straight away. This would create more branching paths in the Adventure world for players to discover. Competitive mode we want to indeed make easier to understand. We actually crunched the mode in the game just before launch as we really love to play it ourselves! Basically, the best run of the match wins; it's not a best of 3. Only your and your opponent's best score counts. If your best score is better than the opponent's best score then you're winning! The restart box having the 3-fuel hint is actually a visual bug (forgot to tag that one out, all other instances should not show the gas price). We have it on our list for upcoming update! Managing big amounts of levels in #rescuewings used to be difficult. We couldn't really give feedback without starting up the game and play. We created an editor window that generates an image per level. We can comment, update progress and start levels from the editor. I seem to often get matched against people in Diamond yet I still can progress without beating the people in front of me, and the top spots (top 20) seem to be mostly just grinding wins to progress. (2) what are the season rewards? I understand they're given based on ranking at the end of the season, but what exactly are they? Coins, planes, titles? Also, plane hit boxes seem to be a bit bulky, making some levels nearly impossible. I've yet to see anyone get all fires on these: Jungle Night 2 (very hard to get 2 water bombs in the shallow water at the beginning, but seems very doable), Forest 4 (seems insanely difficult to get 2 water bombs at the start and do a backflip while releasing a bomb at the right time for the first fire), Forest Night 5 (this is definitely the hardest level in Competitive, I've only gotten a bomb in the shallow water at the beginning once, let alone the two that are needed). Lastly, as mentioned in earlier comments, planes seem to be on the pricey side, tier 2 seems to be the last tier that's reasonably affordable for a casual player. For the upcoming update we're working on giving more insight on the world rank progression. In short, under the hood we're tracking everyone's MMR (even when in lower leagues than champion/legendary). When you win a match, you gain MMR.. when losing, you dropping MMR. When winning against a much higher MMR player, you gain more MMR and the same counts the other way around. The MMR is then directly used to establish the world rankings. (2) The season rewards are unique avatars! You'll see them in the Avatar select menu after tapping your current avatar (top-left in main menu). We agree that this could be much more transparent; we're considering multiple options to tackle this. (3?) We agree the levels become too difficult for Competitive. Although we do like to have a high skill ceiling, we think Competitive needs less difficulty and more high risk/reward in form of levels with multiple paths (slower and safer vs faster and more dangerous). We're planning on adding more levels to each league and swapping some of the higher league levels. (btw, protip: some fires in the levels you've mentioned are close enough to each other that they can be put out with a single bomb! Let me know if it works out!) (4?)
