I need to know why bolts doesn't recharge over time... This is The only problem in a Game otherwise spectacular.

If you make bolts recharging over time maybe i can give you a 5 stars, otherwise i'll uninstall it... It would be a Shame...

Totally! Also, this "bolt not recharging" bug is really starting drive me away. I ran a couple before going to sleep last night and woke up to see that not only were there no free bolts, but after 6 hours I still only had one single bolt in reserve.

I know they've said an update is coming, but they also said free bolts were coming... Kind of a bummer all around.

I have not gotten the 12 bolts either.

Regarding the bolt recharging, try quitting the app when done playing. Double press the home button and swipe up on the app. That recharges the bolts for me almost every time while the app is quit.

Any ETA on the update that fixes this? Thought it was going to be last week.

This would make me enjoy this game so much more. I am an active super shot golf player but only play without power ups. I am so glad I can disable them.

There's a lot of things you can change to give the game more replay value, and that's just one example.

As impressed as I am by the balancing of the items, I do think it would be great to have a mode without them.

It's the concept of arena shooter vs class-based shooter: Arena shooters start all players on equal grounds, emphasizing individual player skill (no items, though skills would still make it unfair), where class-based shooters rely on players making tactical decisions based on their roles (items).

Where the analogy falls apart is that this game's RPG-like upgrading system keeps competition unbalanced until everyone has everything maxed out. Which is why free-to-play games are by design less competitive than the alternative.

For getting to cup 5 in arena, I got 13 bolts and 1 hr speed up time.... So disappointed.

Maybe it's only my opinion, but this Game without bolts Would be a gem played for years...

With them it Would be lucky if it lasts 1 Year from now without being forgotten.

So they only fixed the bug that kept bolts from regenerating. They didn't increase the amount of bolts at all....

    More disappointment.

I sincerely dislike the person or people who are responsible for the monetization of the game.

Bronze chests which are 75% of what you get every four hours (if you revisit the game as soon as the timer ends) give you these rewards:

-Getting 5 mins of speed-up time, when there are upgrades that you have to wait over a week to get.

-Getting 50 coins, when the last upgrade of speed boost is 27,500 coins.

I tolerate the Free-to-play games that handle the system responsibly, and reasonably. This is not one of those games.

Thanks for the continued feedback, everyone.

As someone above noted, we have release update 1.9 which contains a whole host of bug fixes including the biggie: Bolts will now regenerate offline properly. I want to stress, because some misunderstood this, that we did not intend this as some form of malicious free-to-play. It was simply a bug that appeared after launch.

For a full list of changes, head to the App Store or check out our forum thread here: http://forum.rerunners.com/discussion/139/new-rerunners-update-1-9-is-here

For those of you waiting for more changes to the Bolt system, we're running some tests on different solutions in different countries to determine what's best for everyone as a whole. This will take a bit longer, but now you'll get your Bolts as normal for the time being.

I don't think anybody misunderstood the bolts glitch as a malicious thing, it's the stinginess of the bolts that people are upset about. 6 races or 3 tournament runs is way too stingy.

And the gems and coins are no different. You either grind your life away for the later upgrades, or you pay-to-win.

    Here's what I would do:

    - Keep the bolts how they are (or maybe increase them a little, it doesn't matter).
    - Have a new mode that does NOT require bolts, where you race your own ghost with no power-ups.

That way you can essentially have a "practice" mode where you can memorize courses and really get your timing down, and play as much as you want. Racing your own ghost would be incredibly helpful for improving your times.

Then, when the bolts are recharged (every hour, which is really quite fast) you can spend them on "real" races against other people with power-ups and all that. People who are serious and play all day in practice mode would have a healthy advantage and you wouldn't have to worry so much about "pay to win" or whatever since practicing is free.

    Just my 2 cents.

PS - To all the people implying that the devs are greedy or awful for monetizing the game the way it is, please go away forever. It's an extremely toxic and entitled attitude that does more harm than good since it can drive great developers (like Klang and Tilting Point) away. You have no idea how hard it is to make a fun game, keep everyone happy, and make money to support it. Seriously.

Having the practice mode not include items may help you remember the tracks, but how you approach the tracks is completely different when you have items. It defeats the purpose of practice.

Racing your own ghost is good, but racing others' ghosts is even better, so you can learn the best way to run each track.

Pay to win has nothing to do with experience, it has to do with upgrading skills and items. Your proposal doesn't change that very present problem.

    Just my 2 cents.

Considering I was the only who mentioned those responsible for the monetization, I'll assume you're referring to me. Just address me directly.

This is a forum where people are free to share their opinion, and that's exactly what I'm doing. There are plenty of games in the App Store that

    1) are successful while being premium titles.

    2) approach free to play in a much less grind-or-pay fashion.

So I would prefer not to hear the sob story.

The bolt system has issues, but I don't think this is a complaint about devs being greedy. The issue is with how the monetization works, not the fact that there is monetization.

In my mind there is not a direct connection between paying money and bolts. Gems from achievements are quite generous that I have enough to convert to bolts when I don't feel like grinding or waiting.

What is keeping me from purchasing is that everything is consumable. I would definitely pay for some kind of doubler, but in the meantime I don't expect to buy anything beyond the starter kit.

I really like the idea of a practice mode. It needs some way to practice with the items though.

Could each of you PM me your Runner names? It seems that a very small number of people didn't get the Thunderstruck event working properly, but for the most part it was working smoothly based on the feedback from other channels.

This is on our radar for a future change. It seems the entire Chest system may need to be rebalanced in the late game.

I played it more... Man, The free roaming of The worlds is great... Everything is good... But those bolts... I don't know, i hate them...

I understand monetization so why not an IAP to remove bolts?

I would be seriously thinking of getting it... The Game is so good...

You know how I said the items were functionally balanced? Well, now I have an exception. The fully-upgraded coin magnet is absolutely ridiculous. To a kind of broken extent.

This is a fun game. Oozes with style and charm. The characters, sounds and animations are awesome. The map and overworlds are gorgeous and varied.

Couple questions, seeing as how coins are needed to upgrade items and skills that increase performance, but the main way to earn them is getting them before others in races. Therefore, I want my spending to count.

1-Most effective or useful items to upgrade?
2-Which skills are top priority to level? Not sure how to glide or if it's useful. Also the sprint upgrade says you can do it longer, but I've never noticed my runner stop.
3-Does anyone know how often the coins respawn in the overworld?

    1) Boost, Coin Magnet, Shield, Jet Pack, Mine, Teleporter, Bomb, Time Warp. Basically in that order.

    2) All of them, honestly. But acceleration, top speed, and jump are probably the three most important. The glide allows you to hover in the air by holding jump. It's very useful, especially in the later levels.

    3) I think they respawn every hour.
