The update just made this game more awesome than it actually was! I really like this game, I think it is the Trackmania of my iPad. I don't really need real opponents, I like to compete with ghosts and against the clock in this game. It just feel right! Speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!
Tried the slider controls and while they have a lot of potential found using them a little tough with hitting the walls alot even playing around with th sensitivity settings. If it could be fine tuned, could see liking it. But now when back to the regular touch Controls. But like the new levels even though they are still locked out for me. Hopefully they can fine tune the slider a little more.

Yeah... As a time trial racer I still really think that AI opponents would make this a completely different game (not in a good way either...)
I think you're right. For what Repulze intends to be, they are successful. They didnt try to be a traditional racer but more of a time trial racer, and they nailed it. I was really put off by this pre-update, because i too had the wrong expectations. With the update out, the game became a lot more accessible, and it just felt better overall knowing i was gonna play a time trial racer rather than a traditional race with opponents. Somehow, for Repulze, i think having AI opponents might just break the game.
Have been playing some F-Zero time trial on the 64 with my brother, beating each other's times. Has put me in the mood for some more Repulze. Thanks for the update, Shiny indeed.
Is it my imagination, but has the sense of speed and framerates have gone down since this update? I swear, the game seems to be slower, at least on my ipad 3 ios 6.1. Anyone else feel the same? It used to seem so fast, hope they fix this in the next update, anyone else feel the same? But I went ahead and bought the unlock stage 2 inapp. Love the new world, it is really rad. Didn't mind paying extra to unlock it. Gotta play some more, hope they tweak the slider controls a little more, I like them, but sometimes keep hitting the walls.
Yup, 99 cents to unlock phase 2. I bought it cause I suck at the game and wanted to see what the new levels looked like. There's a lot of new stuff, so it was cool.
Was confused by this since it was already unlocked for me so I checked the AppStore. The IAP title is "CHEAT: Unlock Phase Two" which tells me that there's a prerequisite to unlocking phase 2 (X number of stars) -- something I've already accomplished. Buying the IAP just bypasses the prerequisite. I would pay for additional phases without hesitating though, this game is fabulous!
Well, it was saying I had to have unlocked ALL levels in phase one before phase two unlocked. There was an unlock cheat inapp showing, cost 99 cents to unlock, and since I suck at the game, chose to donate the buck to unlock early. Tonight, playing alot on my new ipad and hdmi tv. Unlocked the protagonist, man this hovercraft is cool. Sense of speed is better than the other ship even though it is slower which doesn't make much sense. Played on bonnet view, wow on hdmi speed looks sooo fast. Kind of prefer normal ship view on my new ipad, but bonnet looks better on hdmi tv. Getting to really dig the slider controls. Didn't work well with a stylus which is a pity, buy my thumb was getting used to it. Still suck at the game, but find all 3 control options fun to play. So actually playing alot with bonnet view and slider controls on my hdmi tv. Wowzers, speed now looks faster than before cause of the bonnet view, and the slider controls are making the game funner for me. Too cool, and now excuse me, I'm gonna go play some stage 2 now...
Great game -- wish it would sync the profile between devices though -- any idea if/when that will be implemented, dev?
Fantastic update, thanks very much! I only found one minor problem/bug so far: After a few games the challenge description text on the track selection screen seemed to fade away, so it could barely be seen (same on the race results screen). Going back to the Phase One track selection (Phase One hardcode challenges unlocked) seemed to fix it temporarily. After unlocking the Phase Two hardcore challenges I didn't notice the problem anymore. Maybe just another note: I think the female voice could sound a bit more neutral/synthetic, but that's just my subjective impression.
Amazing update! The initial version was pretty sparse, but I loved the sense of speed so I kept it around. Now I'm glad I did, it just got exponentially better with all the new features that have been added in. I can't wait to see some combat mechanics added in phase 3.
I emailed the dev a few weeks ago about this and they said their plan is to add iCloud syncing to most of their games at some point, including this one. Hopefully sooner than later.
