The game just went from a 9/10 to a 2/10 with this debacle. I seriously hope that the next three episode launches are spotless. I wouldn't want to have one of my most anticipated mobile games become a train wreck due to unforeseen technical problems, but my repeated attempts to start playing in episode 2 over the past few days have resulted in me getting charged for something that I already bought and a broken game that doesn't even work. At this point, I've almost had it with Camouflaj. The only thing I have left to try is updating my iOS, but even then, I don't think it will fix the problem.
I've just noticed that the app has expanded by 600MB since the last time I checked. I looked at the size after Episode 2 was installed and it was 2.4GB, but now it has jumped up to 3.0GB. I thought it might be the "making of" videos so I clicked on one to see if there was an option to delete them to free up space, but it just downloaded the video making the app even bigger! (you can delete it again though) But where did that additional 600MB come from?
Anyone else having an issue where you are able to download episode 2, but after you stop playing it kind of disappears? This has happened to me twice. I've downloaded the episode, played for a bit (and it does save). But then my app size goes back down from 2.1 GB to 1.9 GB and when I go back into the game, I have to redownload it again and any progress is gone. I had a similar issue with Jet Car Stunts 2, where the folder they supposedly downloaded the added content is also used by the system and it can be overwritten. TrueAxis issued an update to fix that issue. Right now, I'm just deleting the app again and waiting to see if this is all resolved. This is maddening.
whoa, quick, go check your emails and use the actual itunes bill to contest the thing....! was pretty quick for me !
How can an app expand by a whopping 600Mb without doing anything? This bumps it up to the largest app on my iPad, and we're just 2 episodes into the game. What size will it be when all 5 episodes are added?
The app is just over 1.7gb on my devices (5, 5s, iPad 2, Air). That is episode 1 and 2 installed, no making of or season pass download. You have a corrupt install somewhere along the line. You need to check what you got refunded for the last time. Looking back at your posts, it looks like you needed a refund for episode 2. Assuming you did look for that refund, it sounds like you may have been refunded for the season pass rather than for episode 2. Or at least it looks like that may have possibly happened. Unfortunately you will have to contact Apple support about that (links on page 40, use the support links not the report a problem ones). It'd be clearer if you gave the details of what pop ups appeared. Also, if you have the season pass, you do not need to redownload it for episode 2, you just need to restore purchases and then select episode 2 under the play icon, not the store icon. Not downloading or selecting the season pass will save almost half a gig of space.
I got refunded for the episode 2 purchase, but when I try the same thing for the season pass, it says, "cannot process this request". I can't really do anything about it until this evening, but Inhope I can get this refunded quickly.
That is with episode 1 and 2 installed and no making of videos or anything else. It was 2.4GB when I checked the filesize for someone here on the forums just yesterday. All I've done since then is play some more of the game and it has suddenly jumped in size by 600MB.
Yep, that is weird but it does sound like a corrupt install and that it's not detecting the location folders of episode 2 and redownloading. Or it's simply a broken download that initially failed, restarted without overwriting the previous attempt and ended up with double space. It's definitely 1.7gb on all four devices I've tried with solely episode 1 and episode 2. I didn't bother downloading the season pass because the making off took up too much space. If I did keep the making off on it, it brings the file size up to 2.2gb so on a reinstall I didn't bother with it. The rate your one is growing does definitely sound like a folder allocation problem that has ended up with duplicates and double downloads of the episode. I would strongly recommend a delete and reinstall. And a hard reset before reinstalling, you'll need to clear out the cache. Otherwise, I suspect every time you pine it, it will redownload and just keep growing. Annoying, yes, but I am pretty sure that its either an update and episode 2 file conflict or folder misallocation. Hmmm. It all sounds like it went the way it should. If you are using the report a problem website or the email report a problem link, I have to recommend the links I put up on page 40, the last link probably being the best one for your problem. You will get a refund, don't worry about that, but I think you will need to give as much detail as possible because there may be confusion within your receipts and possibly the wrong receipt number was digitally applied. I dunno really, with out seeing all the receipts I can't tell where it went wrong so I do recommend putting all the receipt order numbers together in relation to this app, successful or refunded purchases, just so the right refund was applied correctly on all ends including the digital account app linked one. Obviously include them on the report you send in to support and define the ones you wanted or got the refund for and the ones you didn't as it'll make it easier for the support person to track them and allocate them correctly in order to get the refund you still need out to you quicker. Can't think of anything else, let me know how you get on.
What device? iPad or iPhone. If it's an iPhone, it sounds like the wifi timeout issue. Happens to me regularly on an iPhone 5. Power on and off phone, turn off wifi router and back on, turn off and on wifi on device. And I know, that is pretty basic advice but you'd be surprised how often it works out. If its an iPad, well then, I dunno. It could also depend on your region and the server load on the devs servers, but that one is pretty unlikely. Try downloading at whatever an off peak time would be for your region.
I'm surprised you're even still trying to get in on this after all the crap you've had to deal with so far. You're miles beyond my "Alright, #### it" cutoff.
It's a pity all this mess happened because it's a great game. After the updates it finally let me download it. Apart from a couple of minor issues it works fine. Has anyone been to the stairway with the pictures on the wall? It reminds me of a similar stairway in Resident Evil1 it even has a small room with a typewriter which is how you saved in Resi.
I was on my iPhone 5S, and I live in the US. Already tried restarting my device 2 times, I don't think it's a wifi problem. I started getting these issues with all apps and updates after I got iOS 7.1 I'll try restarting my router later today
Yeah, I get a lot of failed to download app notifications myself lately. But if you've done the restart thing, its starting to sound like a server load issue on the dev end. Which I can't help with or offer any advice, sorry.
Finally decided to give the update and Episode 2 download a try... And it went totally smooth. Updated no problem, clicked on Restore Purchases just in case, tapped on Episode 2, it asked if I wanted to download it for free, and then it downloaded just fine. I haven't had time to play it yet. But I did notice I can no longer click on Episode 1 to play the Episode+ game... So, why do I have to have it taking up space if it will not allow me to still find stuff that I missed? If I boot up Episode 2, can I still go back and visit Episode 1 locations through that or are those of us who want to finish finding everything in Episode 1 out of luck?
