I'd probably do it to if I hadn't already purchased everything. No regrets though, because it looks like they could use the support! And after playing that first chapter, I had no hesitation.
Bear in mind this has only been done to facilitate getting international Kickstarter backers their season pass. Not to have the general public take advantage of it
I imagine you have to leave the game on your device until you're able to play through all episodes? I wish you could delete the game after an episode until the next episode is released at it just takes up space. Would be great to be able to reinstall and just continue... That's my hesitation in buying the season pass regardless of price...
Good thought. I normally made backups of my saves through my Mac before deleting them, but it would be ideal if they used iCloud saves.
So I guess I feel a little guilty for taking advantage of this, but since it was leaked in this forum and on the front page of touch arcade, I admit I purchased it at the discounted price. On the plus side, with all my back-logged games, I never originally intended on buying this game, so it is still some profit for them I suppose. I even bought the optional Making of 1 video. HOWEVER, one way for users to set it right if they enjoy this game and got it discounted, the developer could add a "Donation" in-app that is purely voluntary. Same was done in some other apps like Ravenmark. Purely optional, yet for those who want or feel compelled to make up or help out for the discounted price, to make use of. Just an idea?
So the reason for this is that they need to give the backers the Season Pass but they can't because if iTunes policies, so they dropped the price of the season pass so they can purchase it and also offered them refund to. Well a lot of other guys are gonna benefit from this too! So they didn't dropped the price to zero! Too bad! By the way if I download the game and purchase the Season Pass and then delete it! After reinstalling would I be able to retrieve it!?? Thanks!
I think that's how it works, but it sounds from other people posting before this that if you delete the game you can't retrieve it? Not sure about that..
*puts on scumbag hat* So I only have an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and the app says it requires iOS 7. However, I wasn't stopped in the purchasing process up to my password input, so I wonder, could I run it on iOS 6 long/far enough to purchase the season pass? Anyone here in a position to check? You need to keep it on your device? You can't restore a purchased Season Pass? Also is there a way to purchase IAP through the PC? Don't want to clear so much space from my iPhone
I'm screwed! Usually it takes an hour for net to download a game this big but it's been 5 hours and when it was about to be completes it restarted! If this go on I'll miss the sale!
I'm not worried about restoring the IAP. I'm worried about needing to leave the game on my device up to a year to play all the episodes. I'm not sure I can play 1st episode, delete, reinstall in 2 monts when episode 2 is released and start at episode 2 or if I have to start again at episode 1... I've come up with my own system though I bought the game and season pass. Now deleted off my device. Once all episodes are released, I'll just reinstall the game an IAP and have a complete playthrough then. Of course, if someone can confirm you can play episode 2 without a save, then I'll go back to my initial thought of playing an episode,deleting, and reinstalling each time a new episode is released. And no. I don't believe you can purchase IAP through computer to answer your question
I want to do the same. But two thing I need someone to clarify! 1. Can it save our progress and after deleting can we start from second episode? 2. About the Season Pass! Do I need to buy it one more time? Although never heard of that before! I think that won't be the case because it will effect the backers too!
It could only continue your save if it uses iCloud. Then it would be no problem. I have games I delete to make space and when I download them to play again it continues from where I last was - Call of Duty is excellent at that.
I never intended to buy this game but was rather a fence sitter as I didn't want to buy it and be disappointed. This way I have bought it and the season pass and if I don't like the 1st season I might like the following episodes so at a discount of over $10 its a bargain and I think a brilliant marketing ploy to get the fence sitters to commit. A game with many episodes might not impress with the 1st episode but subsequent ones might. A good move.
