I was barreling through the game, an I inadvertantly tapped past the tutorial message that indicates how to choose between standard and advanced weapon options, (i.e. pistol or duel-wield pistols). Just caught a quick glance.

Can anyone enlighten me? Cant's seem to figure out how.

Programming: John Carmack, Brett Estarbrook and Benjamin Lewis :)

I can't see any mention of Firemint.

Yeah, this is what I meant...I didn't realize that Carmack was directly involved in this. No wonder it's so good. This has been a blast to play so far.

He's programming all id games for the iPhone, and his wife is a producer :)
    He's a genius.

If only someone could tell the genius that when a shooter is on rails, it's a rail shooter, and NOT an FPS.

    I kid, I kid.

Seriously, though...he gave himself a big ol' pat on the back for the "innovative" play style and control in DOOM Resurrection, and I was all "um...it's a rail shooter, guy...the play style and control has been used for quite a while. Even accelerometer aiming on iPhone/touch for such games".

But he'll always get a pass from me because of DOOM for the Atari Jaguar. Yes, I owned one (still do) and Jag DOOM was a reason to own that damned thing.

It's the same, EA has literally just been sitting on it because they thought there would be too much confusion having two Wolfenstein titles on the App Store. There are tons of reviews for the original version of the game, pick one: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=wolfenstein+rpg+review&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

What we have on the iPhone is just an improved version of the original J2ME game... So all the reviews should still be fairly accurate even if they're for a different format of the game.

This game is great. Controls are spot on, and I mean spot on. The graphics are just stunning.

Great Job. I high recommend this over Duke3D as of now with the Controls the way they are.

    Different genre, for one.

    Turn based, upgrade items, etc.

If you've played The Quest then it's more like that game than Wolfenstein Classic, tbqh.

About frickin' time! Sorry EA you waited too long. My money (which my wife will allow before shooting me :p) has been spent on Palm Heroes, Civ Rev, Duke Nukem, Dungeon Scroll, Civil War: HM, Titanic, and Spider: SOBM. Next time don't wait 4 months before releasing the damn game! (now i just have to wait and "secretly" purchase this game )

I played this on the phone version once, and it was pretty funny.

Does it have the crazy man who escaped and forces you to play a game with him?

It sounds like one of the mini games included. I can tell you it has crazy chickens you can kick until they turn into a roast chicken. Alternately, you can zap chickens strapped into an electric table and also turn them into food. This has a really good sense of humor to it as well as nice action elements.
