Yes. You can replay any level anytime you want (provided you've unlocked the second or third levels). Replay value is hindered significantly by the lack of online leaderboards. You can always play to beat your previous high score, but if you're the type that finds yourself motivated by other players' scores, you'll be disappointed here. I've mentioned it before, but I'll say it again...I'd love to see Game Center implemented for this game. However, I will also add that there's plenty of content offered at the current asking price. I don't usually play multiplayer games on my iDevices, so I really like that this is a solo strategy game. And, aside from the leaderboard issue, this is a really polished and great playing game.
This is the best part of this thread. No offense meant to Labyrinth fans, but TtD is going to be huge.
Looking forward to "Through the Desert" myself! Love Reiner Knizia games on iPad. Labyrinth is great. Funny thing is, I went to demo it for a friend and the first title I put down trapped me right at the starting gate LOL (didn't pay attention).
Taken. I must agree with all the praises above. This is a fabolous solo knizia game. I wish it great success so that we can get more content!!
I made it all the way to the last level of the third map. I had one open spot, but there were a lot of possible tiles that would have worked for me. Of course, the stupid game picked one of the few tiles that didn't work, so I don't get credit for finishing the dungeon. However, I did get a decent score (I forget exactly what it is) so I've got something to shoot for when I try again. I've not played a lot, with all of the recent releases, but this is probably my most played game in the last 10 days. I'm confident that I'll nail that last level soon enough. I'm not in any hurry.
A trailer for those who have not yet seen the game in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtX0ihdLjx0 The iPhone version will be out soon.
Immediate buy from me upon reading this post. Are you thinking of doing this with Through the Desert as well? Which, if any, of your games do you plan to add asynchronous multiplayer to? Also, I am thinking of picking up your Keltis Oracle game for two players on the iPad, but I'm concerned the app shares too much information between players. In the board game, aren't your stones supposed to be hidden from your opponent? Thanks for your time.
Yeah, I second that. I usually play games with my iPad in it's apple case resting on my lap, but it's only possible in landscape mode. It would be cool with that feature. Should be possible, as the main Maze window isnt that big... The game is great, and now I've also got the game on my iPhone to play on the go. Made it to Lvl 8 on second Maze again last night, and once more was handed a ghost as my last tile which couldn't be avoided. Darn! One day soon I will make it to the third Maze!!
He he you'd better buy yourself a support/case that does both modes, allowing put the ipad inclined in both positions, portrait and landscape.
Well, I've yet to see a case that can rest comfortably on my lap without the need for support by my hands in both portrait and landscape mode. Not saying they don't exists, I just haven't seen one. The apple case I use can rest in 3 different inclines, is also a very nice leather transport case, which is a bonus. Also, I don't wanna shell out for another one, as paid good money for this one. 40$ plus deliverance.. I just thought it would be a nice feature for the game to have, and, since the actual game screen is fairly small, maybe it would be easy for the developer to implement. Maybe it isn't, I'm not a developer, and it's not a biggie, I love the game no matter what.
