Universal Reigns (By Devolver Digital)

Got bored after the first walkthrough.

 

Fair enough. This is a "complete once" kind of game - and it takes quite a long time to get to each of the three endgames. But if you used a walkthrough right from the start, then maybe you kind of ruined it for yourself anyway. I also caved, and it kind of killed it for me too - but I'd already been round the block three times and I wasn't prepared to go one more run without cracking it. Overall, a clever, funny game, but perhaps with limited replay value. Don't regret the purchase for a second though.

 

If this game had stickers for the new iOS 10 iMessage..

 

This may have already been mentioned-but I keep seeing people referring to "bloodlines", which I believe isn't accurate. You can have an "heir", or a son-while this alters the current game, you do not play as him as the next king. The kingdom is what remains as a continuous entity, which is why improvements and certain effects can last beyond one monarch.

Does this save so I can pick up exactly where I left off?
It doesn't seem to auto-save when I close the app entirely...

Do I need to get further before that happens?
(I noticed I'm still seeing the demonstration of how to swipe the card at the start. I'm not saying it's annoying or anything, I'm just thinking maybe I'm still in the "tutorial" section, so...)

(Well, I haven't even played long enough to see how long it might usually take to die/game over... I just swiped some cards and checked to see if it auto-saves.
....Apparently how long it takes for me to die is "not too long."
I just played multiple times in a row.)

Seems to be good.

The review here and the general opinions I've seen here say it is.
That convinced me that I had to get it with the dollar sale. It's a dollar, so I felt I had to try it if it's supposed to be good. I like it enough for it to be worth my one dollar.

I think you should at least read the review to help you decide if you're interested.

5 stars. Hope in future updates expanding the game.

 

I just started playing yesterday. Way too much fun. Got one run with the end 2 and am on the middle of the second one.

My longer reign was 78 years. Looking forward to discover all the secrets. I hope the other ends are not too obnoxious to reach.

 

Question

Build the hospital
It shows up as 'build'
But i still get the card about building it when i die and play the next king

-that seems odd...

 

Are there any plans to keep updating this game? And can it be played offline?
