I have an issue with my iPT 2nd gen.

I just realized my "Other" is 1.12GB. It went up pretty high repeatedly before, but a sync usually fixed the problem. If it didn't, restoring from a backup did.

This time around, my 1.12GB simply will not go down no matter how many times I sync/backup.

    Help?

I just took care of the same issue today. I restored the ipod and then backed up from a save earlier that day. That should fix it unless you have already tried to restore it.

Have you jailbroken your device before? Restoring normally will sometimes leave that JB data alone, but a DFU restore will get rid of it completely.

(Also, DFU restore to a backup usually wipes out most JB data, but it can still leave a few settings from JB applications. It's generally not as big as 1.12gb though, since big things like themes are deleted.)

No I havent but I say you just go with the full restore and then re jailbreak it. Ask in the jailbreaking thread though to make sure.
