I'm about to get this game today, can anyone tell me what the controls are like? Are they similiar to COD controls/movement?

It's made by Rockstar, not Treyarch.

so what, there are a ton of games with similiar controls that aren't made by Treyarch or IW. Its become almost a model control scheme now.

Controls are similar to GTA IV. The Treyarch's similar controls you find it on shooters not on sandboxs.

oh well, I guess no one seems to have a problem with them at least from what I've heard so far. I'll try it out later tonight.

I do not know why....this game does not have much extra...but for some reason I'm loving it so much more than GTA IV

Just Cause 2 has a massive map, tons of stuff to do, missions do get repetitive/boring quite soon though. RDR is a more refined and polished game IMO. Again, there is plenty of stuff to do, but unlike JC2 it doesn't get too repetitive/boring. Story, cutscenes, atmosphere and general gameplay are also more polished in RDR. And there's also the bonus of multiplayer which JC2 doesn't have.
Both are good games, but I'd recommend you get RDR if you have to choose between them.

Same here. I love the natural landscapes and the wildlife. Far more relaxing than the busy streets of Liberty city ;)

Perhaps because GTA IV was insanely boring outside of missions and RDR has stuff to do. I spend way too long just hunting.

The only downside at the moment is the lack of co-op activities. Playing multiplayer with only one other person is kinda dull.

    Hilarious story:

I'm 14 (fifteen in a couple months), so I can't buy MA15+ games without an adult with me (or ID to prove I am 15). I used to be able to but laws have tightened up down here in Australia so when I went to buy RDR at ebgames I was rejected. I went to GAME where I was also rejected...

Then I went to my local Big W and asked the attendant if they had any copies left. He went out back and grabbed one, and as he came back I overheard the other assistant saying: "You're supposed to ask for ID! Ah well, it's too late now, just ask him if he's 15"

End result: I now have Red Dead Redemption :p

Im about to get ths game today after hearing so many wonderful things about it
edit:I gt it and its awesome, its the perfect difficulty, maybe even a little easy, the only part that almost made me turn off the game was when you had to break the horses. After about an hour trying to break them, i finnaly googled it, and found out that I was using the right stick instead of the left, lol. Its very fun Im about to try out multiplayer

Got this yesterday and I had a chance to play some. Definitely a cool and engaging game, I don't know if I'd go as far as saying its a 10/10 game like some of the reviewers say, it seems more like a 8.5 or 9/10 to me, but then again I haven't played through it all yet. Its basically GTA4 with a Wild West theme and includes the humor/stereotyping Rockstar always throws in their games. A huge improvement over Red Dead Revolver. No doubt worth the purchase and one of the better games so far this year.

Ok, could someone please explain what i'm doing wrong?
Yesterday, I did a ton of quests, cleared out a gang hideout, killed a few bounty targets and gained quite a lot of sharpshooter levels. I saved with the campsite several times and there were a lot of autosaves.
The thing is, when I open the single player up, I end up loading one of my first saves.

If someone could explain it would help a lot. I only got my xbox a few weeks ago.

A start would be someone telling me how to load a save game. The only thing I can find is continue on the main menu.

Minorpane, you can load saves from starting the game, pressing start to open the menu, and go to game. It'll show your saves there.

I think the game's multiplayer automatically attempts to put you in a room with a friend. Like three different times I was put in Rocketman's game without even knowing he was on.

Nah, that isn't the case. I'd have to join a session in progress every time I wanted to play free roam with a friend. I learned that the hard way. Even installed on my hard drive, the load times are insane.

Yeah it definitely does. I was playing with a friend from school (max mike jones) and we were in a posse together and I joined a random game and you and this other dude on my friends list were in the game. There's no way I randomly joined that.
