Yeah, and it's fun to stay with your helicopter as it falls. Just let it fall and then dive to catch up with it, just watch out for the blades! Another fun thing that I just found is those gas canisters. If you stand on top of a canister that shoots straight up into the sky, and then shoot it with your pistol, it will carry you up into the sky, lol
Wait wouldn't the helicopter fall slower than you due the large amount of surface area leading to more air resistance?
Well I don't think the physics are intended to be entirely realistic in this game. You fall at roughly the same rate as the helicopter, but you can fall faster than it by changing into a forward diving position or you can let it fall faster than you by relaxing and spreading out arms and legs to slow yourself down. Realistic or not, the game sure is fun
Another cool thing is the grappling hook. You can tether any object to any object. For example - gas canisters (act like rockets) to other objects, then shoot the gas canister to send it rocketing up into the sky, taking the other object (i.e barrel, human etc) with it, then the gas canister explodes and the object drops back down to the ground. You can also grapple a human to a moving car, plane, helicopter etc or a car to car or helicopter, the possibilities are endless. So much fun, I am definitely getting the full game.
Yup. 360, PS3 and PC. I thought I was being really clever last night tethering a truck to a statue and pulling it down, then as soon as I drove away a notification appeared telling me you can tether statues to vehicles and pull them down. P.S. These are awesome: http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/justcause2/video/6252584/just-cause-2-vehicle-upgrade-video http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/justcause2/video/6252500/just-cause-2-midair-sabotage-video http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/justcause2/video/6250902/just-cause-2-gravity-vignette http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/justcause2/video/6249692/just-cause-2-freedom-and-chaos-trailer
RDR multiplayer trailer! This keeps getting better and better: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Holy crap, that looks amazing! The scenery looks great and riding around in posses looks like so much fun. This game will probably keep me occupied for the rest of the year. Still over a month until it is released though - 18/05/10 PS - I hope you can ride the donkey
lol, I don't want Just Cause 2 anymore. I really wanted multiplayer on that, but this just looks great.
Yeah, I'd definitely get this. Blur just looks like another mediocre burnout type game. And I think Burnout Paradise and Stuntman: Ignition look better.
New trailer This game is the most excited I have ever been about an upcoming game. Even more so than any of the GTA games. I'm pretty sure I'll being playing this for a very long time.
The Blur demo didn't impress me gameplay wise. Car models are fantastic, environments... eh. Still waiting for Split/Second. Definitely getting RDR.
I'm not totally sold on Split/Second, it kinda seems like a one-trick pony. So you've got these explosions, that's pretty cool... then what? Red Faction was awesome for it's destruction but there was really little else to the game and it suffered from it. There's gonna have to be a really solid game underneath the flashy gimmick.
Yeah I know what you mean. I watched the trailer and kept on hearing "Driver x triggered x", and I know that many racing games (Full Auto 2 is a good example) in the past have had environmental impacts such as explosions, buildings collapsing, bridges falling down etc. All this game appears to do is put a slight spin on it by having other players trigger them. Apart from that it doesn't look very interesting and unless there are other elements involved, it will be pretty shallow, IMO. RDR on the other hand looks very deep, realistic and unique. It's like they have taken some of the ideas from the GUN series and wrapped them up in a detailed GTA type open world with many other ideas they have though of and incorporated themselves.
This is the game that'll make me replace my Xbox 360. Even though I'm not a huge western fan (and this despite the fact I write weird western stories), this looks way too cool to pass up.
