I think it's really just a matter of when the sales come in. If it's huge hype and not delivered on, the sales peak at release. If it's low hype and really great game play, the sales peak a little while after the release as the word spreads. One issue though is that you may not be reaching everyone who wants to be reached. Someone who would really enjoy the game may just never hear about it. Someone who may be willing to give the game a chance if they knew more about the game, or had more info, may not consider it without reinforced advertising. With advertising, you don't have to promise anything - promotion rather then attraction. And I'm super hyped, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just buggin' at thinking about this game. Totally not your fault though, hehe.
How about we all spread the word then? so that every RTS fan with an iPhone/iTouch will get it. just a suggestion
App Submitted! try not to spam people about it... but yeah, that would be great if you could all get the word out. by the way, I just submitted it. I'll start working on the video tomorrow, guys. I'll probably make more than one.
Great to hear! Edit: ROFL, I saw the word "video" and completely missed the part that says "I just submitted it". Even greater to hear!
hahahaha! I guess I did bury that info in there pretty good. The app store developer section said, when I submitted, that 95% of apps will be approved within 2 weeks. That's pretty good. A week or two ago, it was 75-85%, so I think I caught it at a good time.
I'll make 2 Tweets soon: General Advertising "Red Conquest - Best iPhone RTS game ever! Coming soon! plz RT!!!" Votes for the Level Editor... let's see if we get 1000 people "Collecting votes for a Red Conquest Level Editor! RT!!!"
Sry for triplepost I just noticed that some1 here said that november 24 was the last day you could submit an app so it would be approved before christmas... So this means red conquest comes after xmas? Ouch (sorry for bad writing but im on my iPhone)
