Mr. Kooistra, here's a list of problems (bugs) I've had. No matter what now, if I'm in a skirmish or Internet game if I try to look at squad details, it'll show a few but the rest will be invisible. Sometimes it'll be completely black. Also rarely a menu will still have the white screen issue, which can destroy you if it's the build unit menu. Also, if you max out your population, but are still building units in the background, when they finish building and are waiting to be "spawned" when you have more room, the resource meter says you're losing resources, when it shows the resources clearly rising. Also, units start to flicker in large battles, which is understandable but nevertheless annoying.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE red which is why I really think they need tweaking. I just love the way the destoyers look for red.
Can anyone give me tips on acceptance (normal)? I've tried it so many times and have always failed. The closest ever was a last ditch whole army rush against the planet, and I took it over. But i assumed that was it and did not realize the blue had already colonized all the resources behind the planet. (I suppose I should not have rushed as I had like 70,000 resources and a big army) Like what units should I use? Ive noticed the red cruisers work really well against the blue. I got this game on sale and I love it have yet to try online though
Red's fast building is virtually useless because of the standard costs for each unit. Blue for example, can have a few harvesters, then build a carrier and it won't subtract or add resources sometimes, and build at regular speed. Since red build fast however, it takes more resources quickly, and leaves the player with 0 resources very early in, which beats the purpose of quick building times. I hope that makes sense.
I think it depends who is playing. I see people work it out differently. I think red factions are best in small maps but can still lose to a different faction, they still produce quickly. Blue, on the other hand can dominate in teams. It just depends. @The Bat Outta Hell, Sorry I got disconnected. The game froze during play. Tried coming back in but couldn't. EDIT: @cacazima, Just type in "Red Conquest" on Youtube and you will find a bunch of videos.
I don't think it's overpowered I just think red and green haven't been properly balanced to play the way they were meant to be played. For one I think that the upkeep for green harvesters should be less it's not like harvesters rush now, the time was fine at which they reproduced before them attacking was what caused the harvester rush. Also green needs to be able to produce more damage to numerous units and have a bit more health. Red.... I'm still thinking,...
Sadly, green isn't viable. If we look at the Blue Vs Red matchup, the way red wins is by spamming carriers, red will win on small maps with lots of minerals (go play vs ]2F[Omega if you disagree with me). On big maps blue should win as long as blue goes 2 Foundry. This brings it to the blue vs blue. On small maps its carrier rush (depending how lucky you are, you might be able to get away with a foundry build), but on big maps it's pretty much luck (assuming players are of similar skill). Me and Omega played quite a few games and came to the conclusion. There are 2 possible openings, harvester first or foundry first (or you could do a carrier rush, but that involves WAY to much luck). This is where luck gets involved, if we started close to each other, I'd win (since I went foundry first), if we didn't start close to each other, he'd win because he started with harvester first. The thing is, you have to make the choice before you know what your opponent will do and where your opponent is, creating a rock-paper-scissors scenario. I've been thinking about how to balance green, the problem is units take much to long to build, and decreasing the build time means that late game they can reproduce like rabbits. So why not give the main base 50%(probably to high) faster production or something. This will give green a fighting chance IMO.
Hi, I bought this game yesterday but I don't have any icons in the unit menus. I.e. I get a grey/black ring with alpha transparency around the unit but no build or move icons. Does anyone know how I can fix this? /update Once I restarted they came back but my game crashed after a while and then the next time I played the build unit screen was messed up :-s. All was ok after I restarted again though, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
There's a balance/feature update in the pipeline, and Episode 3 is still a ways off - but I've been a bit bogged down with some other exciting things coming out of Cat in a Box. So stay tuned, the next Red Conquest update will have those in-game player names that have been sorely lacking since the start of online multiplayer! (though I don't know exactly when I'll be able to push it out to you guys - I'll definitely post about it when it's ready. )
This bug has been known about ever since the update, and only affects older hardware with the newest release of iPhone OS. I'm still working on it. The last patch fixed it for some people, but not everyone. Additionally, the problem seems to be worse for people with cracked versions of iPhone OS, so if you go legit, your problems might go away. So yeah, it's known, and I'm working on it.
I had the problem with black "squad type data" screen, strange as f?ck sense I haven't experienced this before. I thinks it has always bin ingame, and not from the options menu. have an Iphone 3GS 32GB latest software, no jailbreak. First time I saw this (i think) was in an online game with CPU's, and the next time I saw it was offline with CPU
That's a totally different problem, actually, but I'm also aware of it and am (hopefully) fixing it for the next release. To make sure it's the same bug - approximately how many ships were onscreen when you left to go view the squad type data screen? (like, a lot, or not so many?) Also, never mind how many ships were onscreen - but how many would you say were built, all told, for all players in the game? (CPUs included)
I'll be online. Update: 9:07 PM Pacific Time There's a match going on. Almost done so wait a bit guys... Update 2: Match going on at 9:14. Five players on. At least half an hour wait... What the heck?! I was playing with Swift, Hero, Empreb, and God of War.. And while I was building, my last unit moved by itself and then I surrendered. I didn't press anything and suddenly it just surrendered. My units are still in game but did nothing... Weird bug and I don't like it. Update 3: New game as of 9:33. Six online.
