iPad Red Conquest - (by Cat in a Box Games)

    which one is "build the wall" ? :S

    do you like red, blue or green? only use destroyers/battleships. if you are red you only need one foundry, 2 for blue. try to make sure that every attack ship is firing on something (engulf the enemy)

    and don't worry, I'm not that good at campaign, but ok at online, you will learn ;)

    Just got the email confirming 1.1.2 is ready for sale - now it's just a matter of time before it shows up in the app store. :)

    here's the changelist, it's a short one:


    Version 1.1.2

    -increased carrier-class HP, to make them more capable of blockades
    -monitor-class ships are now correctly labelled as attack units
    -the game will auto-sign-in to a specific server now (once in the online screen), so that you're more likely to see other players online
    -fixed bug where playing with < 8 as the "maxplayers" parameter would not allow you to load and play levels


    green also has a minor tweak to its foundry and base HP, to make it more resilient to early attacks. Green still needs some tweaks, but I hope I'm going in the right direction here. :)

    Green is supposed to be a slow starter but strong finisher, so if you're not rushed you should have a decent shot at mid-game domination. Their units, in my mind, still need to be a bit stronger. :p

    When you say carrier class, I'm guessing you mean all factions, right?

    It's awesome.

    Not really similar to any games, but it's a top down shooter, touch or accelerometer controlled, and you play as the formations from Red Conquest defending a carrier from red waves. It's extremely good.

    Do you have blue defense?

    John, I'm giving you a lot of my thoughts about red conquest, I hope you don't think it's unnecessary information, and just annoying (which allot of it probably is :p ).

    But sense I play a lot of red conquest, I will continue to give you my thoughts of "improvements", until you tell my not to ^^

    So here are some more!: I think it would be good if there where a "ping" or some kind of sound for the game host when someone joins the lobby. Because its often 0 players online, and if I go online to wait for others, I don't want to stare at the screen for 30 minutes to see if someone joins me (or the time it takes for someone to go online). so why not ad a ping or something, so one can put the iphone aside and do outer stuff.

    Rush is one of the few maps where red has an advantage. I've played this map a lot. But someone can win with good maneuvering as blue and good build. If anything this is probably o e of the only maps where red stands a chance. In more games blue is very much in control since red has to build tons of harvesters to get going while blue starts off solidly. If red tries to rush, then blue can do foundry-mv- carrier-cruiser and win (for the most part). Green is very underpowered still. I'd add a bit more health and more damage to other ships. Like ....green can do 100% damaage to up to 2-3 ships and 40% to extra ships. This would balance things out a lil from being rushed nas it stands though blue is very solid and it's red and green that need tweaking

    WRONG----> if you win with blue vs red on a small map, then the one playing red is doing something wrong and/or dosent know how to play red on rush maps. (obviously i don't know how to play :p)

    WRONG---->Red OWNS blue and green on small maps, donut, mini pipe, mini rush, pipeline, rush, Funnel. and Red is actually really good at some bigger maps with high resources "hidden treasures" (as you don't need to many harvesters)
    Blue don't have time to do: foundry > MV >carrier > cruiser. red will just spam carriers. I'm wrong, sorry god of chaos! ^^

    Wow custom formations would be awesome!!!


    I would love a half circle formation. And also a half circle with 2 or 3 more units in the middle so that when the middle units die then there's more to fill them up. This could be done with micro but it would just be nice to have

    SO.... Now I have played vs Chaos(blue). and he totally owned me, red(me) vs blue (him). (maps: rush, mini rush, mini pipe) so it looks like my words got shoved back right where they came from :p (and hard)

    AND! And chaos will be my god for a day (sense he won). ALL HELL YOU, MIGHTY GOD OF CHAOS! ^^
