i'm running 3.1.2 on an itouch 2g 32GB. display errors happen to me constantly on any mode. both single and multiplayer
If it is a low memory issue, then restarting the whole itouch/iphone should free up some memory - over time, the system beefs up a bit in RAM, so restarting gives you a clean slate. 100% is a relative measure of combat effectiveness. A high defensive stat means it will take damage slower, a high offensive stat means it will deal damage to others faster. Conceptually, each unit is a ship with some escort formations. All ships' defenses are rated at 100%, and an escort formation may be stronger or weaker depending on which ship it's flying around - the idea is that combat units provide more support for their escort formations, while things like foundries don't support their escorts as much so they're on their own. recap: formation atk - how much relative damage formations do formation def - how strong the formation defenses are ship v ship atk - how much relative damage the ship's main weapons do to other ships ship v formation atk - how much relative damage the ship's main weapons do to other ships' formations so some units are good at taking out the enemy's formations, while other ships give bonuses to their formations and keep them around longer (and are thus more effective to put more formations on). reference: -formations have 500hp each, and if they are damaged, they show it graphically - the red snakes get shorter, the blues lose wingmen. as long as the formation has some health left in it, it has full combat effectiveness (so the angled pips beside the ship are still the best indicator of actual formation combat power)
yeah, it seems to be ok until either a large single game or a certain (still very small) number of users enter the server. :/ I'm working on it... wish me luck!
to h0130j03, re: end of episode 2 - I'm glad you were appropriately moved. Episode 1 got off to a slow start... and now that episode 2 is complete, can you imagine you're only ~50% done? There are 2 more episodes coming in the future! this is very important - you were able to surrender? That's a very important clue to me for debugging the server issue. I assume you were not the host? As in, you had a "vote-for-level" set of buttons and not a "start game" button anywhere, and you didn't have to select a level? When you search for games, you're searching with the parameters you set above in the "online game setup" screen. So if you're searching for a specific kind of game, that one "open" game won't show up if your parameters are wrong. Before "searching" for games, if you want to find all games, set the game mode to "any" and it will find your game for you. Also, touching "play with others" will host if there are no games of that type available - but if there is a game of that type, it will join instead of hosting. You can be the host if you want through the advanced game setup options. I had a lot of help, you should really be thanking Henry and Victor as well (sound and art guys, respectively, on Red Conquest) - they helped me string all this stuff together! Also, for early planning (like, April/May of 2009), you should thank my friend Sinan (he made Blue Attack's music), since he helped flesh out the whole universe and come up with the motivation behind red and green. out of curiousity - do you think you'll ever try setting it to "very easy" or "easy" mode, just to get through the campaign? Or is that not an option for you? (too much pride? I get that too - it's my stubbornness. ) ah, but they cost even more than red on average. Green is supposed to be more resource- and unit-limited than blue or red. (i.e. blue and red players should rush green players, before they have a chance to build up their economy) Well, I hope you were appropriately saddened by the occasion!

Is this normal? I updated and restarted the device (that didn't work...). Seems to me there are some images missing.

can't wait for more episodes! i wanna actually play Gideon! ya i noticed they were really expensive. and yes it was pretty sad, destroying an entire world that could still possibly have human survivors. but collateral damage is inevitable in war. sure thing!
I want to help as much as possibleso i'll give any info i can. Well, that white screen thing happenednto me once. I was in the. Massive build screen thing where you can have more than one unit build and then i pressed the small hammer button on the bottom and the screen was white. I am using a 2g ipod and running os 3.1.2 i think. In multiplayer games it would crash or a message would pop up saying i was disconnected. When the game freezes, i can't surrender but i can touch surrender then yes but nothing would happen. I can still use most (or all) of the pause menu. I can still move the waypoint stuff but my ships won't move. I end up pressing the home button. Also, you should check the group because some of us replied to yiur questions.
Oh, and john, again, the "Fleet Build orders" Menu for green is bugged. When choosing which unit type you want to send the orders to (the hammer in the circle icon thing), you either see no units (but still are able to pick a few), or you notice that the menu is too long and is cut off at the upper screen edge
it's been noted, but it's low priority - I'll get to it after the servers. Everyone who's having this problem list their hardware, please (2g touch, 3g iphone, 3gs, etc). I have a feeling it's a memory issue on 128mb itouch models.

by the way john. when you filter combat units with multi-select using the green faction, the cruisers aren't considered as combat units
