Well I guess if you are so sure of what is right or not for you, maybe you don't really need any advice here in the first place. Just trying to help.

I got my advice earlier on (and still open to), I now have a direction to go in, specifics would be nice, not really any need to turn it into yet another 'PC vs. Mac' thread.

My angle was never 'Mac vs. PC', it was 'best of both worlds'. If anything you brought up the 'Mac vs. PC' idea with your assertion that there was no value to having access to Mac at all.

You can dual boot PC to run Mac though, you only brought up the Mac to run PC, and I'd already stated my preference for PCs.

Blah, anyway let's try not to derail the thread any further about being bitter about things, any word on the Asus?

Well I agree it's getting off topic, but just to note, a hackintosh is not really comparable to dual booting a mac to run windows.

At least you are getting your thread bumped ;)

Asus makes good gaming laptops, I don't know much about Acer but i've heard they make good laptops for a solid price as well.

I wouldn't recommend a Mac as a gaming platform, as there are better computers for a cheaper price that works better with it's native operating system.

Also, my personal experience with bootcamp made my iMac lag, but i'm not sure if that will happen if you use it.

Bootcamp didn't make your iMac lag unless you ran out of disk space. Even if it seemed like it, that wasn't the reason. Not possible.

Yes, you can dual boot a PC to run Mac OS X, but most of the time it works like crap, doesn't have the multitouch goodness of the current lineup, and IS ILLEGAL.

I use steam, and as such I download a lot of games. And yes, bootcamp did make my computer lag, when I wasn't using it it went noticeably faster.

I've experienced this first hand, so it is in fact possible.

I downloaded Steam as well since there are not a lot of Mac games and that the Mac is not anywhere close to a gaming machine. I used to use Steam on my laptop all the time for the past month but Portal was being extremely slow so I decided to upgrade and get a new iMac. Portal runs perfect now. Hopefully more games come out on Steam in the coming years or so. I know it's not a part of that engine but I would love to see Halo & Call of Duty, even though that will probably never happen.
