Just noticed this thread now but I'm really hoping to see this in the appstore soon. I have 3-4 risk clones and none of them were really implemented that well so I deleted them fairly quickly
Mike, It won't be in for the initial release but asynchronous multiplayer is definitely planned. Maybe our first update?
Internal testing. We're wrapping up internal testing and hope to have the beta build out to beta testers soon! Our goal is to make this the best possible world conquest gaming experience on the iPhone/iPod Touch (and eventually iPad). Your suggestions and feedback are invaluable in making that a reality!
Beta Build out! Generals Beta is out! Beta testers check your email! I'll be play testing with beta testers most of the day. We still have open slots if anyone else is interested in testing!
checking email now...yay! oh we gotta wait for our application to be approved before we can download it....i see. well then ill wait.
i have to say that video tour is hilarious, i now am the master at this game thanks to that video. Great piano skills too!
its weird that every beta i've tested you've been a part of , you get that file size issue worked out yet for pocket creatures?
Beta update! Beta update: Beta testing has been going really well, many bugs have been fixed thanks to the hard work of our diligent testers! We're looking at seeding another build to our beta testers tomorrow. Barring any major issues, we see Generals being submitted to the App Store over this coming weekend. Also, player ratings will be LIVE at the app release, along with leader boards to see where you stand.
Aside from multiplayer (which has its pros and cons compared to AI), is there anything that really differentiates this from other Risk clones?
Multiplayer is definitely our hallmark feature. We have some devious AI's in single player too if you want to hone your skills or have a quick game. However, with that in mind, single player is really only a training ground for where the action's really at: multiplayer I mentioned before our rating system and leader boards but I think it bears mentioning again. If you're like me, this type of game is all about competition - nothing beats playing against real live human beings, and having your progress tracked. But we don't plan on stopping there. We're actively working on alternate multiplayer game modes that will greatly beef up the fun factor. Push notification games are on the drawing board so you could potential be playing 20+ games at once if that's your thing. Our goal is to give you a multiplayer experience that will keep you coming back for more. Really this is only the beginning; if you're at all interested please check out future updates!
Generals has gone GOLD! Generals has gone gold! Just finished uploading to Apple, hopefully the reviewers will pro Thank you beta testers for all your hard work! I'm looking forward to playing with you all when Generals goes live. BTW - Initial pricing will be $2.99 USD, 40% off our regular price of $4.99. Check the main post for the full App Store description. I'll be happy to answer any questions you guys/gals might have.
