Yeah they did something that with Real Football, dragging a button in certain directions did different actions like lobbing a pass. It does look pretty good but whoever is playing it is either crap or the controls suck. They can't seem to direct the ball at all - just hitting it into the centre of the court. Anyway, i'll probably wait this 1 out a while - i've pre-ordered Grand Slam Tennis with Wii Motion+, which should arrive pretty soon, so will be playing that...
Is Grand Slam Tennis coming out now too? That's come round quick! Mind you, it'd be best buying more Wii Motion+ to go with it, as you only get one with it don't you? Definitely getting this one, as it looks more fun than Virtua Tennis, and perhaps more accessible for my family. Back to this game, I hope it's easy enough to direct the angle of shot. This is one thing TST got right imo.
That's Arn playing. He did say on the front page that he hadn't mastered the controls as yet, though the basic feel was intuitive.
It's released on the 12th June in the UK alongside Wii Motion+. I can't wait - and just in time for Wimbledon... Oh, that explains it then.
I do wish the animation weren't so jerky, but it's still leagues beyond any Tennis game on the iPhone currently. Different impressions on the controls of the game: http://www.iphonegamenetwork.com/e3-real-tennis-hands-on
