It's on sale for $7.99. Is it worth it?

If you say yes, is it worth it for an American? you know what I mean.:p

controls are pretty tough. The main controls are a d-pad and 2 buttons (A&B). It's really hard to get used to controls like that. Without being able to feel the buttons I ended up messing things up quite often.

It was still fun to play, but if I payed 8 or the original 10 bucks I'd have been pretty frustrated with it.

As I predicted, on the face of NFS, Asphalt gets a price drop.

+ best soccer game on the iPhone
+ very good graphics for a mobile game

    - virtual steering cross and buttons suck big time compared to real gaming systems
    - stupid A.I. (players run around very randomly)
    - simple gameplay (you can run straight to the goal most of the time)

=> not worth $8/$10, especially if you own some other gaming device with real controllers

Yeah, I just bought it last night when I noticed the price drop!
The game is very complete (although most of the team flags are made up and some teams' names are wrong), it has good graphics (PS1 quality, IMO) and is very, very fun!

Even though the controls are good, they take a while to get used to! But if your iPhone/iPod Touch is your main portable gaming system, you're getting the best controls possible!

I agree that the A.I. could be better but the stupidity of the players also depends on the difficulty setting!

The gameplay reminds me of old FIFA games where you could score from midfield! But despite its flaws, it's a great game!
I just wish the updates improve the controls a little bit and, maybe, the graphics!

Well the problem with that comment is that people don't buy an iphone with hopes of playing a game as good as you would on a console. If you paid $60 for real soccer 09 then you could complain. Yes the controls are a little hard to get use to. Yes the AI is not that great... but is it worth 8 bucks... yes it is. You have to compare these games more to a super nintendo then to a PS3.

I bit the bullet last night and bought real soccer 09. I had seen it and wanted to try it out for a while. I thought about it after it went on sale and jumped.

Like I said, it's a good game, lots of depth. Lots of little features like leaving sounds off so you can listen to your music. The controls will take a while to get use to. Great graphics for a game on the iphone.

My one complaint, is that right now you hold the screen with home button on your right side. I wish you could flip it around. It's harder to hold the phone and play if you have headphones on because the cord sticks out on your left hand.
