She (That's the problem with having a unisex name!) OK, I have some winners. This was, in fact, pretty agonising so let me explain what I did and why. Some of the rules were not clear in my original post. The competition was a "treasure hunt" but it was confusing to know what pages exactly qualified, so I did not penalise anyone for the confusion I inadvertently created, ie I did not disqualify anyone for posting a number of pages that each had the famous footer some people asked about: I counted all of these, and other repeated stuff like the "which iPod are you" chart, as one page only. However other parts of the rules were pretty clear. Specifically, one of the rules was that to enter, you had to post the URL of the page and where Real Racing appears on each one. Sadly not everyone did this, so in the interests of fairness, and not disadvantaging people who followed the rules, I disqualified those who didn't. I also disqualified any entries that had badly formed URLs I could not click as it was pretty clear people had just copied other entries and not checked the URLs themselves. After I did this I was left with a much smaller number of entries, and started going through lists. It was clear that some people had not found as many pages as others, so I took those out of my list. After much sorting and clicking and putting things into Excel, I was left with a group of people at the top who had all more or less found the same number of pages (approximately!). So to save my sanity, I've decided to give a promo code to each of these lucky winners, instead of the original 3 I had planned. wow, I'm a friggin idiot. I can't believe I wasted a couple hours of my life in such a heartbreaking manner... Funny thing is, I even remember going back and looking to see if that little tidbit was mentioned in the rules (after I saw other people doing it) but somehow must have missed it... My own stupidity has simply blown my mind I think I found the most too...
I felt REALLY bad about this!! After all the questions you asked also, you were clearly trying to make sure you got it right and I think you added a lot to the competition by clarifying things for others In fact, I have just decided to give you a very special prize to say thank you for helping to make this competition a success! Sadly you did not win the competition... but I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't send you a code to say thanks for your help Alex
