  1. I think a lot of senior members and TA staff are burnt out now. So post the links if you want.

    My eyes! My eyes!

Can't you at least give a small warning?

  6. Well, I did all the boycott stuff and signature stuff, cause time is of the essence. As you know, the release is planned for Feb 28th, so if anything is done by consumers like myselft to remove the wait timers, it has to be now or never.

I will look into getting a NZ account just for this, cause yes, you are right that it would be more fair to see first hand what is going on. But it's like watching Tv, so much hate and disappointment from hundreds of actual players on TA, and almost NO fanboyz. Crazy, never seen anything like this. Dead trigger was tame compared to this. They always had a big pro fanboy faction.

So I do think it is an informed decision. And yes, I think it is fair. You may not, but The people have spoken here on tons of threads. The news is not good.

As much as I appreciate being reminded of a rule, I'd rather be informed by a moderator than some guy who likes to mock people with irrelevant celebrities and excessive use of exclamation points.

    Urge... To kill... Rising.

Anyways, I'm off. Two posts in and I can't stand this thread.

  8. Triscuitable, that photo was not there to mock you for posting that other post which I said to you that the moderators don't want any more posts about that subject. I posted that photo to respond to the post before that, but couldn't because of that directive.

So it was not a photo to mock you for breaking the rules. It was in response to this post, where you said I wasn't going to win against EA. So it was a joke a about my winning, not about you breaking the mods rules.

I just couldn't really say anything at the time, but now that we can post freely unlike before, I wanted to explain the joke to you if you do ever come back to this thread. It was never meant to be mocking you at all. I want to make that clear, it might have seemed that way, but all the posts were being censored, so I could not make it clear. Maybe in restrospect, I should have not posted the picture, but it was a joke about my winning against EA, not mocking you. :D

It doesn't matter. This thread was specifically made for ranting and it's completely out of the way from the main forums. There is no need for you come here and tell people to calm down. When the time will come Eli will do that himself.

It's not really hard to see what EA are doing here.

In essence they are using the Real Racing franchise as a test bed for aggressive IAPing.

At a guess Real Racing is a pretty new franchise that can be, if needed, destroyed... just for the sake of EA's business people to see which directions work for the most profit. They would never do this to Need for Speed because is a very successful franchise with a long history.

The reason why Real Racing has been delayed is because EA have forced changes later on in the development cycle (I don't believe the game was designed from the ground up for IAP). I know for a fact it was not as I've had first hand knowledge from people I know.

This is a prime example of how EA ruin good development studios... It will not surprise me, EA's normal pattern, that Fire Monkeys will not last beyond 2 years before the studio gets closed down. A real shame really :( Because when I was employed at Firemint between 2006 and 2008 I thought it was one of the best studios I had ever worked for with a long future to come.

    RIP Firemint!

As for EA - by doing this you are going to kill the industry. And when the fallout happens I hope you burn in the hell called bankruptcy.

Is there anybody in ea we can single out for making this decision? I want to send him her an email.

The only knowledge I have is from meeting ex work colleagues for a few drinks at the pub.

I wish I had that info to pass along because EA need to be told that cripple ware will ruin pure video gaming.

As a guy from FIremint, can I ask you something? Are you saddened that sites such as TA, Pocketagmer and the likes (who do have the power to make an influence, ever so slightly) aren't lambasting the game outright for its overly ambitious and downright greedy freemium models?

  14. I know some developers on this board, and they have said that RR3 was designed with inapps from day one, and they know the Fire Monkey Developers, so I am not really sure about this one.

Anyway, I don't know if it really matters, the end product is what matters, and you did raise one interesting aspect that Real Racing is not a big name like Need for Speed, so it can be a tech demo for inapps and time waits cause they can discard the line. But that would be sad, I have always enjoyed the Real Racing line more than NFS.

    Well, we'll see what happens.

Not really... I'm sad for the fact that people I know may well lose their jobs in a couple of years.

As I said I got this information from the pub ;)

    As the thread title suggests:

Real Racing 3 Rants, Conspiracy Theories, and Other Weird Complaints Reply to Thread.

I'm just adding to the conspiracy theories ;)

Another fact that has not been mentioned much is Rob Murray resigned from Fire Monkeys. That's pretty interesting news in it's self.

what is/was his role in the company? Maybe he wanted to keep things sane but EA got fed-up so they gave him a stack of money and told him to leave?
