That's just a piss take. Won't be downloading this. I know it's free but what's the point downloading it hitting those pay walls just to delete it after. No one is going to splash their cash on this. If it was just a one off iAP then I'ed consider it but this will be asking you to pay just to breathe. Real racing my ass should be called real robbery

Also most people forget if EA gets a foot in you can guarantee the genre will be milked to death and squashed until its nothing like it what it began as, with this company freemium is the least of a concern too...

    Remember the settlers, remember c&c...

    With only zynga being worse.

    my impressions:

    leaving iap aside......
repair and service timers ####s up the whole game! i mean im playing this for 2
hours now and i only did 9 short races!
30 minutes gameplay and 1 hour 30 minutes repair/service times!!
they need to tweak this a lot otherwise everybody will be done with it in no time!!

No wonder. Supported by tA and three million front page articles for that crap. I love tA but when it comes to racing games it's just a mess. They completely ignored Asphalt 7: Heat by Gameloft which is better in almost all aspects. It costs $.99 and you get ALL tracks and ALL cars in multiplayer modes from the very beginning.

Boycott RR3! Don't even care to download.

You might not like the waiting, but you're still playing though. The longer you play, the more likely you'll break down and buy an IAP. Multiply your single experience ("This game sucks! IAPs suck! But I'm gonna keep playing anyway...") by several million and I think it's easy to predict that RR3 will be a massive "success" for Firemonkeys/EA.

Mobile gaming is all about monetization for large and small devs alike. We premium game lovers had it good for a while but freemium won. Resoundingly. It is what it is.

Sorry, but this is a d*ck move by EA, making the game freemium. Played 45 minutes and have a 2 hour timer now. And I make minimum amounts of contact. Even if you stay damage free, you have to wait ridiculously long for "servicing" your car, or lose vast amounts of performance.

I am not in the right frame of mind to call out EA, but the fact that the cars "target" you and that the circuits are narrower than they should be is testament to the greed that is so very present in this game.

I will persevere still, for a little while more. But once it gets out of hand this game is history for me.

How dare you say that about this beautiful tech demo!! May I remind you that you can convert this absolutely stunning tech demo to a full fledged game for only 149.99$! But that's not all, you even have a option to play 1 race than wait 3 minutes, and every single other race you play that time increases so you have a time to take a good look at this tech demo - for free,of course

    lolz :D
but there is 1 fault in your reply:

149.99$ WON'T give you the full fledged game BY FAR!
with that price you only get about 5% of the game unlocked!

There's one major issue everyone is ignoring in this whole debacle. Firemint was not a small developer after the RR1 success, and after they became Firemonkeys with EA they are not even remotely close to being called indie. They charged a reasonable premium price for their excellent games and were paid as such until they decided that their revenues were not matching expectations and we saw iAP and frequent sales. The question becomes, what exactly do they feel is the true retail market price of their complete content. Is it $60, on par with console titles? Or maybe $20-30, closer to PSN/XBLA/Steam levels? Do they truly believe that people would not pay that much for a premium flagship racing game? I have spent over $100 in the past month alone on fantastic music making apps which are willing to ask their worth and get it.

I feel that this is not simply a situation of a desperate race to the bottom because we're not dealing with a small, struggling developer. They could have chosen to put a price on a fantastic product, by giving us a premium version of this app where there are no timers and no gold. Just you and the game. Price it at $30 (or even more if you feel that this is on par with Forza and Gran Turismo) and see how things go. There is a section of people who right now will not give you a cent for gold, but would easily shell out that money for an actual product that you can own instead of feeling like you're in an arcade with a bunch of quarters.

Just gave my review on itunes:

I give this 1 star pure for the fact that it's loaded with iap's and cooldown timers!
If you want to wait hours and hours to do 4-5 short races, this is the best racing game for you!!
Iap prices are wayyy to high and the waiting timers are wayyy to long to enjoy the game!
Don't get me wrong, it's by far the most beautiful and the best racing game in the app store but the iap and especially the timers ruin the whole experience!

    Eat this EA/firemonkeys!!

Most people that are playing mobile games are just flat out not willing to spend money on the games. For example a friend of mine loves Civilization Revolution on console, they have been playing it on a regular basis since it came out and bought all of the DLC. They have some mobile games that they play constantly so I told them about Civilization for iPhone (which was on sale for $.99 at the time) and they got excited because they didn't know about it, but then harshly reacted "It costs money? I am not paying money for a phone game!!!"

Sorry, I prefer iOS games actually being made instead of the platform stagnating and dying due to cheapskates? That doesn't make me an apologist, that makes me a realist.

I kind of blame the lot of developers for continuously dropping their games down to 99cents, now a lot of people have the mentality to wait for that idiotic sale and I know a lot of people not buying games for more than that nowadays because of it and in turn ruins profits for future premium games. Developers really are to blame for pushing this kind of low cost 99cent or free mentality.

So maybe freemium is the way to go to make money, but I'm not sure if waiting for repairs is a good idea for a hardcore racing game though. Freemium is ok if done right and it doesnt get in the way of the gameplay and that kinda of lame waiting for repairs game mechanics will only ruin the game and from some comments for some of the people who have played it, it seems like it has. Car packs IAP, track packs IAP, cosmetics IAP, etc may have been a better choice...waiting for repairs is something that would ruin a once great game.

it seems that your realism is lacking, well, reality. it's well probable that everyone raging about this would pay to play this in the usual way, without this waiting bullshit, like myself did with RR1 and 2 for iOS, and RR2 AGAIN on Android. Now, this probably is still profitable, since the two previous games were not freemium garbage. The problem is, game makers that go this way are not doing it for profit, but for greed. They rather make more money making garbage than make a pretty decent amount of money making a good solid real game.

And above all, what saddens me the most is to see that a specialized media representative like yourself supporting this kind of dickmove. Thank you very much for bringing the downfall of the mobile gaming.

If you prefer to have a half-assed game that have you unbelievably wait for it to play again, with no feasible way to a fair price remove those restrictions (like, say, a 10 dollar IAP to remove ALL restrictions), then it's your problem, but also mine, for I am suscetible to the success of a market model made of greed.

    Sad, really.

    ^^This!

The F*cking service sh*t is driving me crazy. Now I know why Americans voted EA as the worst corporation in the country.
