Real Racing 3 Rants, Conspiracy Theories, and Other Weird Complaints

Discussion in 'General Game Discussion and Questions' started by BrettArchibald, Feb 13, 2013.

  1. I want out of this one. Too much posted garbage that it stinks in here.

I formally nominate Jbruu the zombie haterz, President of the Real Racing 3 Defense Squad.

    Modz, please change Jbruus title...

Good luck, and god speed.

    @matthew-13

I sent a PM. This thread goes too fast and I don't think anyone cares. :D

Reviewers and players who aren't very good critical thinkers are going to gush about TSM I think. Firemints amazing asynchronous emergent multiplayer mode downloads players' brains and loads them into your in-game rivals. It's lucky for us that Ayrton Senna isn't alive and playing RR3 because we'd never beat him!

With 11 front page pieces on TA already before the game is even in full release and Eli's admission in this thread that he's a simple casual gamer/freemium-lover, I'm not sure there's much hope for that ;)

    And that achieves what, exactly?

I'm thinking it reduces/removes the wait time for when you have to repair your car?

  7. Wow, where you been?

  8. What, are we going to get your title changed to "Cheif RR3 Hater"

    Don't do that mods...don't do that...for JBRUU's sake

My opinion is, if you are willing to wait it out, this game should be fun to you...the sad thing is, the majority of iOS gamers don't have patience, and they like to speak out their opinions

People might say that Firemonkeys made a big decision, but remember - they want to do the thing that benefits them better. It might not be the perfect game for the people who love to play games hours on end with a lot of content, but for those gamers who want to play a race a few times a day, they will download this app, play through it and probably buy an in-app or 2.

Firemonkeys are trying to accomidate a lot of people with this game. Take it around for a spin or two, you might get addicted to it after a while.

  9. Jbruu's comments have all been very favorable to RR3, so he is not a haterz this time, that's why I nominated him for the Real Racing 3 Defense Squad, cause looks like the vast majority of TA users seem unhappy.

But you are right, if they make money on the game, that is the most important thing for Firemonkeys, and probably there would be people that spend $100 on inapps for better cars and no wait times. Wonder what the highest prices are for inapps in this game. And where is Gabrien???

Firemonkeys didn't make any decisions at all. This is an EA decision, and EA employs Firemonkeys.

Further, patience?!? You mean, like I should be patient and wait 6 hours so I can play again? Pfft. Crazy talk in here.

I understand your point, but I think, at least from my perspective, a lot of people were waiting in high anticipation for this game. And to have a solid, stellar gaming series like this totally revamped with wait-times and other money grabs is what is drawing the flak. Freemium games with really bad systems (including a few of the Square Enix releases lately so it isn't just EA screwing the customers) come out every day. And there might be some posts of how bad the IAPs are. But with something as highly anticipated as this, I can see why this thread exploded. I still have no doubt based on the series acclaimed history that it would have been a success as a premium title. Even paid with some IAPs to skip some grinding would be ok. But it's just having it degraded to this model that doesn't make sense - especially for a pretty hardcore game.

I was thinking earlier that the game would probably still rake in the dough. But now I'm really not so sure. Most freemium cash cows are casual games. Are there as many people willing to give up 2 gigs of space to check it out compared to a 50 MB social game? I'm not so sure.

The people downloading games like this usually are the more hardcore audience. Those wiling to pay a higher price upfront.

We'll see how the experiment works out.

I'm possibly getting a new tablet for my birthday tonight (unfortunately probably Android based, but I can't complain...or at least shouldn't :) ). But even though this will be on both iOS and Android, I don't think I'm going to download this just to be disappointed in the business model.

TA staff is having a lot of front site fun on the backs of their users.

"While the rest of the world is focusing on how mad the New Zealand, Australian, and Canadian release of Real Racing 3 is making them..."

Never criticizing EA. It's just us being the idiots.

It happens to a lot of review sites. Business first and everything else after. They shy away from ruffling feathers cause they want to be able to get early versions of games to write about so they can get page views. Getting that money baby.

As Eli would say, "Your fault"

Wow 90minute waiting times? 6hour waiting times? Can't grind? That's kinda terrible. This used to be one of my most anticipated games of this year, but now i'm disgusted and quite disappointed :(
    EA is killing the franchise
