"Now, take a deep breath. I have played Real Racing 3 for about one and a half hours now, and for the first batch of repairs and service (I decided to do them together), it took me around 2 hours 15 minutes. And a full 2 hours of that time came from servicing the car. Take an even deeper breath now, please. 30 minutes of playtime or so later, I had to send it in for another round of servicing and repairs. This time, the wait time increased to a whopping 6 hours 30 minutes!!! And again 6 hours of it came from servicing alone, something which you have little control over." From that Droid Gamers article. Ouch...
now this is a frontpage article from somebody who doesnt get paid/goodies from EA! 100% truth instead of the usual EA buttcrawling on some sites
I don't know what to say.. After all this time, posts, threads, speculations and so on, we have this type of "paidmium" game where the more money you give, the less you get in terms of fun. I think this release has shattered in only few hours all our playing dreams. Obviously there's a chance that on the international release all these thing will be ironed out.
Something that'll be comical is the 5star review the game is gonna get from TA. I love the site as a resource for ios gaming info but NO one gives away perfect reviews more then TA and more often then not, irresponsibly so. There is no way graphics and gameplay can overcome the severely hampered iap structure that has been implemented in this particular instance and a responsible review/impression must reflect that. Will be curious to see how this particular review pans out in the coming weeks. Need to have the game actually release but the reports of wait times, competion structures and the exhorbitant cost of the iaps needed to overcome them speaks volumes. I was disappointed about re3 going freemium but if balanced right was willing to accept it as a necessary evil in the name of my love for the franchise. From everything I've read here and elsewhere, this game is far, far from balanced. It's turning me off for sure. It definitely comes off as a game that while ill play at launch, I won't be going back to it much in the weeks afterward.
Clock settings will do the magic for now....but I honestly think if this doesn't sell as well as they think it will...they may make a new IAP to unlock all that timer crap, and make it around $9.99...I would certainly buy it then. Because honestly, it's a great game, with mind-blowing graphics and truly enjoyable racing. But paying REAL MONEY that I work hard for every month, just to skip time is completely ridiculous. For now...saying no to IAPs, even if it meant never playing the game!
After all this time waiting for an update to this amazing franchise, we get this. The IAP definitely is making this game absolutle trash and all I have to say is that Firemonkeys are a bunch of sellouts. What a waste of time and effort...after around 40 minutes of play this piece of junk game is already off my iPad.
Yes, but I read that "controversial payment system" and "forum rage" as digs at the customers, not at the developers.
Has it been stated that those have to be digs at all, much less that they have to be directed at the developers?
Whoa. I just realized something guys. There are like, hundreds of thousands of other games on the App Store. I know it isn't that much, but surely you can find a new one that you like, instead of focusing on one game that you don't?
I've raced you in the first three races this afternoon. Luckily i know most of the tracks i've raced so far pretty well but for new tracks there is now way of memorising indeed. I can't believe how terrible this has turned out to be. Thank god i can entertain myself here for the next 5 hours, that's how long my car will be "in service".
That's brutal. Beyond greed, it's possible they're thinking of making sure the servers can handle the bandwidth. Hopefully, they'll dial that down post-launch. If not (and fast), this game is going to tank.
well i did like 7 races without barely any crashing and now 6 hours and 15 min of repairs, now this is freemium done well ........ I dont see this in the top of the app store with these pricings And this looks like crap agains most wanted in the 4S in my opinion i will be going back to that one
This thread is impossible to keep up with even for active members like myself. Wow thought the old dead trigger thread was pretty bad, but man, this one has it beat in a lot of ways. Regardless, I am still looking forward to playing it on my tv, no matter what anyone says. Poor Eli.
To all of you: Disable wifi. Then settings>date&time, change it to whatever shit you want. Go back to the game. Enjoy.
Really, this game should have been called Real Racing Free to Play, and then released a full meat £10 Real Racing 3 app also, even if they both used the same assets and tracks. This game just feels like a butchered up sequel so far, but I am holding out a little longer to see if things calm down like we are so told in some of these previews out there.
When I heard it was freemium, I knew I probably wouldn't like it. When I read EA was involved, I was sure. After reading how it's implemented, three words come to mind: Rape The Customer. I'm not going to download it. I simply will not add to its chart position. Sure, others will, even despite their rage, but this is just a declaration of war to us as consumers. I'm sure TA will write it up, encouraging us to 'lay back and think of England' as it were, while EA is doing a number on your wallet. No doubt the site will have some great banners up on the 28th. I am rapidly losing faith in IOS gaming as a whole, and sites like TA that seem to choose the payday over ethics. I'm hoping TA will prove me wrong on that.
