Very interesting article on the freemium aspect of RR3: http://www.cnet.com.au/inside-real-racing-3s-freemium-price-structure-339343306.htm
I highly doubt that. NFS is an arcade racer where drifting is emphisized as where RR is a sim racer where drifting will take a big chunk out of a good lap time. Going in and coming out of corners with as little friction as possible can mean seconds on a lap. Also, burning all that rubber means you have to buy new (repair?) tires real soon
Yes, beta tests are very normal on iOS in this way and almost always are released in Canada to test server loads and other things which are then tweaked with updates before the full international launch. They're just not called beta tests. It's the only real way to test certain stuff properly outside of the sandbox testing before mass release. The only thing unusual here is that Australia and New Zealand are included but Firemonkeys are Melbourne based so that's not really surprising either.
Yeah by beta test I meant Stress test my bad. The goal is mainly to test the servers and prepare them for the international launch.
Ah, you can still call it a beta really as the servers are pre final. Well sort of anyway. Stress test is more accurate alright. Soft launch applies as well. I just default to the simplest term automatically so my bad as well really.
I know this doesn't make a lot of sense, but in actual fact games release in NZ seven hours earlier than in AU, normally.
ETA 28 min If RR3 asks you to use your current location you might wanna decline that request, just to be safe
It's up. Download now. Quick way to find it is look for need for speed, go to developer info and its at the end of the list. 716mb compressed, haven't uncompressed installed size yet, still downloading.
Could you give us a link to it? I can't find it on the NZ store when I search for Real Racing 3 or even just Real Racing.
See my last post. No link yet but how to find it is there. Look for need for speed, open up page for it, go to developer history and all EA apps will show up. It's the last one on the list.
Easiest way. On iPad at moment so links just keep opening my own store on the device, sorry guys. I'm sure release thread will be up soon with a link.
