I sort of like the damage system because it might make races a little more intense as you try not to crash...
The ONLY reason I'm going to reserve judgment on this is Asphalt 7. Yeah, that was a Gameloft game and not technically "freemium" selling at $.99. But holy crap did that game have an enormous amount of content that didn't require IAPs. That was kind of a rare exception for Gameloft. And I do fear that EA is not going to be as kind. Like killercow said, I'm particularly worried about the damage/pay to repair system. We'll see. But EA has trashed so many other companies, like PopCap, that there's reason to be concerned. What's ironic is that both EA and Gameloft DO have $.99 sales on their premium games all the time. Well, perhaps this is EA's way of saying goodbye to those and hello to getting money via IAPs that usually never go on sale in-game.
You can add MC and NOVA games to the list, which are quite good BTW. I don't even like Asphalt for a number of reasons, and it looks horrible on older devices (nothing compared to Most Wanted, which is awesome for mobile - and for normal - in a bunch of ways). That won't stop you from being right.
Looks like him but don't think it is. Google real racing 3 then click images, scroll down then you will see few pics of this guy. What would Turk be doing at real racing company anyway?

So not that bad iap? But say they had millions of gold coins and cash for their build. Gold coins speed it up and only get via iap and leveling up while cash pays for everything else. Somehow there's something we are not being told.
