I'ed rather pay £5 for this than download for free because CLEARLY this will be plastered with iAP which I'm not happy with.

"Real Racing 3 was designed from the ground up to be a free to play experience." Am reading it and for some reason it doesn't sound as a good thing,at all - You had a winning formula..

Yeah, because, you know, GT+ is free to play and it's a total shit. I'm sure you are mistaken and wanted to say "Free to pay" instead.
I'm really hoping the iAPs are integrated decently and that I don't have to sell my ass to get them. I was really looking forward towards this game and it sounds like you ruined it.

Highly disappointed to hear the news of Free to play. And I dont like the idea of multiplayer Not being a live experience. Its basically playing against a timer not a real person.

Maybe we will need like 5 tokens to play each race, and they slowly run out, you can either wait an hour for 1 token, or pay £1.99 for 20 tokens!!!
The thing is, this game probably cost a lot to make, so it won't possibly be just free and that's it, I think there will be heavy IAPs

Well I agree with you 100%...

Glad the EA/Firemonkeys PR is at least honest and have the balls to stand out and tell us once and for all the hole and only truth about what`s going on.

Kudos to the hole Team for such passion about Gaming and that you provided already a List for all the iAP that is currently already in the Game at the same time you did announce that the Game will be Free to Play.

I`m sure everyone of us here on the Forum will honor it in a special Way when the Game will Launch later this Month.

Ok I've had enough! Boycotting EA Games as a whole, and any game that is Free2Play.

Please, let's join together on this. We need to tell these companies that they're ruining the AppStore experience. I don't want to do this because I hate these companies; in fact, they made great games such as Mass Effect Infiltrator and FIFA 13 which are both excellent premium games. But by designing the game "from the ground up" to be all based on IAPs, that means it's simply designed to take cash from you at any possible opportunity, and it all goes around to make the player pay real money inside the game just to play it.

I want to boycott these companies to show them that premium games are what made the App Store so great. Wether it was the original Need For Speed Underground shown in the iPhone 3G keynote, or Infinity Blade when it blew us away in the iPhone 4 keynote; those what made the App Store so great and replaced the handheld gaming consoles such as the PSP and DS.

If we're all going to suck it up and play money-scamming freemium games, then I'm sorry, the App Store will lose its gaming appeal.

If I ever end up playing Real Racing 3, I will not pay a dime to EA or Firemonkeys, and if it insisted on forcing me to pay money to just play a race, I'll forget about it and delete the whole thing.

And that's where you are totally wrong. You won't be racing against a ghost but a physical car that corrects itself with AI and thus you can even influence the results of the race.
Please have a look at this video, which explains what Time Shifted Multiplayer is and how it works:

AFAIK, there has been no mention that real time multiplayer isn't present in Real Racing 3.
Considering the complexity of the TSM system and that you do have real time multiplayer in Real Racing 2, it seems like a piece of cake to implement it.
Don't worry yourself too must just yet! ;)

This smells totally like the work of a corrupting EA ... I'm just dreading seeing that 'ultimate coins' pack to buy all cars impossible to get otherwise and costing '£69.99 Best Value'

Such a sad end to this series if it pans out

I can see why developers make free games with IAPs, it probably gets them more money than if it was a paid game, but I just lose respect for developers when they do that as this is the obvious reason they do it, just to get money... There's no thought for the customer.

  20. This is EA we're talking about. Assume the worst until we get more details.
