    Ah, well. Them's the breaks.
Thanks for coming on here and letting us know Sam.
It was obviously a tough decision to delay.
And considering some of the reaction, a brave decision.

It shows to me that the team is committed to only releasing the best possible game and if you are not happy with it yet to release it, well then its the only possible decision.

It's disappointing yes, but playing a game with bugs is far more disappointing so I respect the teams commitment to quality.

The decision went right down to the wire on this one so its obvious that Firemonkeys wanted it out as much as we did so we (developer and players) are all equally disappointed at the delay.

But you're commitment to quality should be commended and I'm glad you decided not to release a semi finished game and then try and update the bugs out of it.
I'm sure that would have disappointed people more.

Now, polish the hell out of it and we will see you in February.

Do get it, it's an excellent game and it just got a pretty big update.
It will definitely keep you going until RR3 and it looks like its going to be supported well.
I think its on sale as well (or going on sale on the 19th by each region) but I haven't checked.
Edit. Just checked. It's on sale in uk anyway, so definitely get it.

I'm not really that upset about the delay, but being this quiet and ignoring everyone's questions about anything regarding the game is just unprofessional.

I mean if you guys were going to delay Real Racing 3 to the END OF FEBRUARY anyways, you could've just told people you were delaying it a couple of days ago, without creating all the hype and drama that happened today. Even EA's website said it was coming out today, while it's still around 2 months away. How disconnected is the relationship between Firemonkeys and EA to let EA believe it's being released today while it's still in development?

An advise to Firemonkeys Sam: Please keep your customers informed about your awesome games, and if there is anything that you guys are having trouble with, let us know. Connect with your customers as much as possible. I have bought every single Firemint, Iron Monkey, and Firemonkeys games, and hopefully Real Racing 3 will be one of them in February.

And Sanuku, I just want to know what got to your head to troll us like that! :p

The thread title needs to be changed - "Coming Feb 2013" would be more appropriate.

I think you can be pretty sure that this was a very late decision to delay and not part of the plan up until very recently so I think they kept us as up to date as they could.

Of course the disappointment is natural but it looks like it was a decision they had to make.
The fact that TA, Sanuku and many others believed t was coming should imply it was nearly released and it was a close decision but that they simply needed to do more work on it.

Expectations are very high for this one so they need/want to get it right from day one.

I don't buy that bull. There is no way a game that is *very* close to completion is delayed 2 whole months at the very last minute. 1 or 2 weeks, yes I understand...but 2 months means it has relatively much work left to do, and hence the decision to delay the game was done weeks, even months, ago.

The saddest part here is that Sam and his kind didn't keep us, the dedicated fans who trawl the upcoming threads to see news on Real Racing 3, in the loop regarding the release date of RR3. It might even be said they would have gone on with their mouths shut had TA not wrote that article and seek clarification from them.

Bad move all around, but yes, like others here, I hope the somewhat long delay results in a great, great game. The PR/marketing guys let the fans down, but lets hope the coders/designers/artists do their jobs beyond excellence!

I'm sorry to hear about the delay but I cannot understand why someone would make such a fuss about it. I'm looking forward to the game but I prefer a polished, finished game over a buggy one. Expectations are very high here I'm the forum. Perhaps too high for someone. But please, without trying to start anything here, get a life. It's Christmas / holiday season!! ;)

    (Well played, Sanuku ;))

I'd pay 15$ in a heartbeat anyway, Real Racing is amazing.

    Exactly.

Real Racing 2 was full with quality. Just imagine how much better RR3 will be.

The censorship really is a bit harsh around here.
I cannot believe my entire post has been removed without a warning or otherwise.
Not to mention that a part that was addressed at Sam got killed with it.
    Good job!

RR2 truly blew me away when I first played 2 years ago. Stunned at how well of a game I was actually playing on my iPod. I would have no problem if they decided to price it at $15.

You don't have to buy that bull, you have the right to believe whatever you want.

I, however, know it was a late decision and understand how products get developed.
Therefore I both believe them and understand what happened.

If you want to think they knew months ago, you are entitled to think that as well but the facts are that now would be a much more financially rewarding time to release it and that is reason enough (but not the only reason) to confirm they were doing everything possible to make this release window.

Plus if you think two months is a long time in relation to developing something like RR3, you might want to rethink that. A two week delay, that you would seem to understand, wouldn't even give them time to implement and test minor changes.

TA wasn't the only one to publish an article on it, many review sites expected it so they were announcing the delay anyway and wouldn't have gone on with their mouths shut as you put it.

And if you think of Sam and others as "his kind", I feel thats actually the saddest part of what you say and you might want to learn some respect for others that provide you with entertainment rather than have that self entitled attitude.

You can continue to think on that pr, Sam, Firemonkeys and whatever lied to you for the last two months about the release, that again is your choice.

Or you can simply see that they decided it was better to delay the release and make the game better and more complete. The choice of course is yours.

Sometimes people, even game developers, actually do tell the truth though.

I have found it baffling too. Lots of my posts here and elsewhere have been deleted too.

Another important factor that you don't seem to be taking into consideration with your speculation - there are optimum windows of opportunity when it comes to releasing games (or any product for that matter) and I very much doubt that 1 or 2 weeks from now would a good time to release anything.

Real racing 3 delayed until late February

    News from: side to play

This is the last week in 2012 before Apple stops taking new submissions to the App Store, and one major game will be missing its original release window. After emailing EA for a comment on the status of the highly-anticipated Real Racing 3, they informed us that the game has been pushed back to a late February 2013 release date.

Here's the official statement from EA Mobile:

Our goal for Real Racing 3 is to create an experience that resets the bar for racing games on mobile, and we wanted to take some extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing Real Racing 3 and all its new features such as Time Shifted Multiplayer, plus dozens of new cars and tracks, by the end of February

I remember the big thing they made on the iphone 5 keynote.
Somehow this is a poor show, to present this game in a almost completed state to thousands of people and then delay it TWO months.
    ... waiting mode on

  20. Two months is nothing compared to the amount of time people have waited for Infinity Blade Dungeons to be released. That game still has no release date in sight. :/
