Looking at the trailer footage I cannot help but think it's post processed to make it look more shiny. Of course I believe it when Rob Murray says that what we see is actually rendered in real time on the A5X chip, but then he said "what you see back there is running in 1080p" and then my jaw drops even further. Especially because it looks like FSAA is enabled to boot! How on earth can this be? I just have trouble believing it because it simply looks too good to be true. I've expected a game like this to run in non-Retina on the iPad 3 and already I would have been happy and content as long as it has all the graphical bells and whistles enabled. It's not often that I try hard to believe it but just fail to do so because the graphics simply look out of this world for a mobile device. See it as a compliment you guys!
Hi Sam! Why Real Racing 3 does not have a release date, just as had the NFS Most Wanted. What is the difference to for one having and the other not having? I mean... What is the difference of strategy, in the end it will have no difference! Why the suspense? Why don't you say if the requirements of the Real Racing 3 will be the same as the requirements of NFS Most Wanted? Not to reveal the application, just say if it will be the same... That would make some customers abandon their 3GS or maybe 4! Why the suspense?
I'm sorry but you are mistaken. We did not specifically reveal this kind of information prior to the launch of Need For Speed Most Wanted. You may have seen speculative or rumored dates but we never published any precise dates. Likewise for the full list of supported devices. We'll reveal more when the time is right. Thanks for your patience
If iPad 4 gets full retina and iPad 3 doesn't I'm gonna burn this place to the ground then go kick back on my 360 with some Forza.
I think you'll either get full retina without all the effects or all the effects without full retina.
In that case the iPad 2 gets FULL effects? Would be awesome if such. But yeah, all I want is a stable 30 fps and I'll be happy!
Really?? Everyone knew months in advance that NFS MW will launch on mobile same day it launched on PC and consoles. That wasn't speculation at all...it was concrete and precise information.
No, wrong. Sorry. Firemonkeys never once announced the release date beforehand. Nor did EA. Everyone assumed it would come close to or on the the release date of the console version. But that was pure speculation and not concrete or precise info direct from the developer. They simply announced it was coming with no date attached. If you can find a press release or any other official piece of info targeted at the public (internal memos or embargoed press info doesn't count) from Firemonkeys or EA, officially announcing the release date, I will eat this iPhone 5 with a small bit of salt and ketchup. Plus, the post was by a Firemonkeys representative. You can take his word for it. When their ready and sure RR3 is just right, they'll let us know what date it's coming because this is going to be a very big game.
Ok yeah my bad. But it just felt like I knew long before that the game was coming on 30 october (maybe it was just late October...I don't know).
Further to this I'd like to point out that the Need For Speed Most Wanted console/PC release was not a worldwide launch on the exact same day. Console/PC launch: NA 30 October 2012 AUS 1 November 2012 EU 2 November 2012 JP 15 November 2012 Mobile launch: Worldwide 30 October 2012 Again, just wanting to clarify things here. Obviously it was pretty safe to assume we'd launch around the same time anyway, but we never mentioned a date. As much as we'd love to share a release date for Real Racing 3, we cannot do so until we're ready. Feel free to speculate though Edit: Insider knowledge? You can read minds?... What am I thinking right now?
I think I know what you're thinking. Suffice to say someone else may have said too much. (Couldn't resist that one, 'twas too easy) Actually, I'm just gonna leave that stuff to The Mentalist, Patrick Jane is much better at it than me. I'm going ahead and speculating that RR3 will come in very handy over Christmas and considering iTunes connect closes on the 20th, I'm going with before the 20th December. That's pretty vague so gonna go with 6th or 20th (!) (not 13th, who would want to release on the 13th? Too risky if you're superstitious). Not eating iPhone 5 (salt or no salt) if wrong about it though.
