Well, I finally got enough room to download and install this, so I shall start playing this tomorrow afternoon, when I have time I'll just hilariously mess up, knowing me
Its a strange frickin model no doubt. On the whole its probably one of the better uses of IAPs Ive seen. Minus the $100 cars of course. Im sure that when they drop this on the 28th the start of the game is going to be a hell of a lot more inviting
The second the waiting times were dramatically reduced, the game became superb, it became playable. I've moved my save game over from my iPhone to my iPad using iExplorer, so I'll do that on the 28th when it hits the UK so I can use my actual iTunes account to pay for IAP when needed. I was worried I'd need to start over again on the 28th, but thankfully I won't. Just delete the NZ version, install the UK version, open iExplorer and copy my Documents folder into the UK install. Sorted.
Agreed on the above points. I really do hope they work on the issues of having only one car at the beginning really screwing up a lot of players enjoyment of the game. Start by concentrating on upgrading your one car and you're screwed, no doubt about it. They should really be a bit more lenient on the player somehow till they get a second car. I still think with all the cars that require a lot more money either R$ or coins, EA will still get their IAP's purchased by a good few. But yes, initial first impressions can very much be hit or miss depending on management skills/racing skills of each individual player.
I've got 162 Gold, should I get the McLaren for 65? I feel like I should keep saving it all, but I love that McLaren.
Hehe, you made me laugh, I am actually glad to hear alot of you guys feedback lately, cause it was sounding really scary at first, which I cared about so much cause I lived RR2 and liked the guys at Firemint. But EA had been a thorn in my side with what they did to Chillingo which used to be my favorite publisher. That made me sad. Same thing seems to be happening with Firemonkeys, but as you and others say, things are looking up, and who knows by the US launch, things may change even more, cause I can guarantee you that many of their staff, Firemonkeys, competitors are reading TA's reaction to RR3. I took some heat for saying boycott EA unless the wait timers go. But sometimes I like to fight for what I believe in my heart what is right. If EA does the right thing and makes RR3 fun and not justba greed pit, I don't mind defending just like I do as the President of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad. You talk about heat, but wow, the President of the Real Racing 3 Defense Squad is much much tougher. Never in my wildest dreams would I have dreamed this would have taken place. So I am curious what will happen here on the 28th, hopefully the world won't end. You said I'm doing just fine without evil haterz in my life thanks As President of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad, I can understand cause it's tough trying to rationalize with evil haterz like Jbruu and Ninjackid. But through the experience they have become some of my best friends on this board. Looking forward to tomorrow, so many kind souls have helped me get a NZ account, really looking forward to see how RR3 is, whether I will change my signature or not, and making some friends who will kick my butt for trophy coins. Peace out. Going to sleep now, sooo tired, went to Chinatown New Year's parade, here's a photo of the firecrackers and dragon dance afterwards, good night my friend.
The Macca is fast. I love McLaren. But honestly it is hard to control and near useless on the tighter circuits. Also the upgrades are REALLY expensive. If you really must, Firemonekys has said that the best car is Pagani Zonda (400 coins). Otherwise the 150 gold Porchse also looks good.
What he said.. Side note, since I'm running running this game through the NZ app store, will I have to restart my progress if I switch to the US version on 28th?
Just played RR2 a little. Looks beautiful. I'm waiting for the 28th,cant see how 3 can look any better than 2. Great programming skills.
I think the game's saved on servers using GC, so maybe you'll be able to keep the savegame just by having GC (Tiny Tower did that). What I'll do to check is install the Spanish version on my iPad when it comes out and see if my savegame restores there. If not, I'll copy the documents folder using iExplorer.
I think for me (on the ipad2) the textures look a bit more "flat" lacking detail and shadow compared to RR3. That includes the roads and buildings etc. The cars themselves have more detail in RR3 I'm sure, better shadows again, and better more defined reflections. Not only that, but I also prefer the exterior camera on RR3- it doesn't stick rigidly behind the car at a set distance and position. It moves more "organically" backwards and forwards, and to the left and right when you turn corners. This adds to the effect when the car accelerates and the camera attempts to keep up with the car.
my take on it This was a respone to a post a while back on what we all thought of the game now with the recent changes to what we noticed so far is the wait times (come on I bet there has other stuff gone on but we would not notice due to how they can update the game on the fly). Since playing from the day It was soft launch (yes note soft launch its not officially out until the 28) my take on the game has been much the same admitted when I heard of these wait timers I thought nope hate it. Yet oddly when I got down to playing it, it didnt bother me. I think cause im a drop and out player of games I dont sit there for hours and hours at a end I have a quick blast put it down then carry on at a later date so to me the 6 hours wasnt issue and in fairness I did step back and thought well hang on this is a soft launch they have to test that the servers will be able to handy the load when it goes world wide and do any twinks to improve this, after all look what happen with Battlefield 3 when that went live on PC. It took days/weeks before they could fix the problems that game was having due once again everyone calling EA every name under the sun. Anyway im getting off track (note the pun) so back on to RR3. I worked me way though the game and at present im running with 6 cars I could buy 7th but im holding out for one of these specials that come along getting a car at discount, infact the only one I had so far was not soon after I started playing the game not had any more yet but maybe give it time .zzzzz The more I play this game the more I notice im changing my racing style, at the start I would at times use the car infront as a brake push my way though, now I take my time and pick spots when I can pass without picking up damage IMO I say the game awards this I was down in 8 position on the Spa stuck behind a couple of cars never thought I catch the rest of them, yet have some clean passes I did manage to catch the last few on the last corner of the rest and get around them. Love it or hate it I think the TSM is great once again the more I play the more I have change how I take on TSM thanks to having a full field of friends (Game Center :hellscaretaker BTW) there many a time I dont come come in the top three but that doesnt matter to me as long as I bet the new times set by TSM friends and get the award in cash then great as I found often you get bigger bonus from beating the TSM then what you get from how you finish in the race. It be interesting to see what next week brings when we have a new featured event which oddly no one commented about its all been about the same thing it being free (WTF) and the times but serious dont go off what everyone else says try the game yourself you either going to like it or hate it.
Hey, does anyone have any problem with accessing the second championship? Everytime I click on it, the game persistently for closes within a few seconds. Other championships are fine. Tried closing all apps and rebooting a few times, as well as on/off wifi to no avail
Oh, and I must say the Audi LMS Ultra is so smooth. The downforce levels are insane. I like this the most out of my 11 cars so far. Next best the Porsche 911 GT 4.0
Hey guys, I was just thinking about it. Hackers/modders should be the least of our concerns. Where we should really be worried is people who rally across the grass or simply skip chicanes altogether. This seriously impacts the game via TSM. Imagine a guy just going straight through the final chicanes of Suzuka or Spa. I hate to think of the consequences.
