Haha! It's a sad day when normal humans require diplomatic speech to be left at the door!
So I just raced a cup with the majority of the racers were friends not random TSM drones. Besides being more entertaining and profitable the race was a lot easier. Are you friending up yet?

And I speak diplomatically all the time because it seems that whatever one posts, it gets twisted or misinterpreted.
I'm simply being civil and trying to be reasonable and understanding of opinions and experiences of the game that differ from mine.
My own experience with the game won't be the same experience others have.
I don't see why being understanding of that is particularly wrong.

No I'm not associated with the developer. I have an understanding of the industry.

No. As much as I want to get that extra $$$, I made a long time ago to NOT get drawn up in social gaming. Online numtilplayer, yes. But not social gaming. I have not caved in up until now, and I don't think I will, just yet.]

Plus joining you guys would be inconsequential. For now, I am so far ahead I will not race you guys in TSM in my events.

Oh I see. But you are an insider all the same. A little bird told me so. And I have clear proof from a credible source to back me up.

I guess your reply will be diplomatic.

  5. Rip, as your friend, I think you should just take a break for a bit, and this is really coming from me as a friend. Take care.

To a certain degree, yes I only cared about the cash while racing the first car.
But at first try of the races in my first car (focus) in the first championship was
    First set, three first places.
Second set, a second, a fourth and a second.
    Skipped silvia challenge.
Fourth set, a third, a first and a second.
The next few sets were all fourth, fifth or sixth places until I got the second car.
    That's relatively competitive.
And I did order upgrades when closing game so they would be delivered while i was off in the real world. Or service of single items. Just managed the car while I wasn't going to be playing.

Fair enough. In this instance what's the diff between social gaming and online mp. I consider racing on Xbox live just online mp. It's the same as this. Happy to be wrong :)

The update cutting down the timers, will it be released post U.S. release or will NZ get it earlier?

To be honest, the only games I have ever utilized online MP is RR2, Nova3 and Shadowgun Deadzone. That's about it

That update already came to the version of the app that is v 1.0.1
It was over the air and happened when you opened the app if it was removed from the multitask bar prior to that.

Sorry, but your little bird may not have informed you correctly and further to that, personal information is not relevant to the thread and as I have no professional relationship with the developer, lets get back on topic before mass reports and time outs become necessary.
And they are very close to that already.
Keep it to the game not to personal matters.

To avoid the dreaded use of subjectivity as the base of a games quality here are a few variables that have contributed to the enjoyment or distaste of RR3 to the peeps who have been playing it.

Waiting times-Variables: Firemonkeys updates to times, quality of car, driving style, IAP preference, lifestyle (happy to come back later)
Obviously waiting sucks. However with a few cars under your belt this becomes less of an issue as you can race a different car while the other is in the shop. If you want to race the same car continuously then get ready to blow some coins.

Success-Variables: Friends on gamecenter, driving skill, IAP preference, buying strategy, gaming preference (pickup and play or hardcore), TSM
If you like to rip through and get trophies (who doesn't) then this is a strange game. There is no difficulty setting. Instead we have TSM which is meant to adapt to you. TSM is a strange beast and possibly needs some fine tuning before it becomes more relative to the player. Currently if you upgrade your car TSM will send you other upgraded competitors which often seem overpowered. Others have flicked off wifi and had success in more relative bots. IF you have game centre friends it will help you in your quest for podium finishes. A race decked out with your friends often feels pretty balanced and can be pretty riveting stuff.

    Multiplayer-Variables: TSM, Gamecentre, Firemonkeys
Ok so TSM is fun but RR3 feels sorely lacking without true multiplayer. Many of us thought TSM would be like ghosts that you could race in real time. Sadly they just go off an opponents time and the the AI does the rest. This leaves the game feeling a little lifeless which is odd considering every car represents a person. So this space is really dependent of what Firemonkeys next play is

Pricing-Variables: Firemonkeys, IAP preference, level of hate for the man, how much you want to grind, skill level, strategy
The IAP stuff is brutal. Don't think its not or you will be disappointed. That said if you want to get through and not pay a cent there are ways but you will have to have a solid plan, skills and maybe a novel to read. If you are willing to drop a tenner and use a strategy then you will be pretty cosy. If you the dosh and you want to drop $50 or more to get ahead of the pack than go ahead but just remember that next time you speak to a cute girl in a bar she'll be thinking about how much of a d1ck you are. D1ck

Im sure Ive forgotten stuff but at least there a few things here to give you an idea of why some of us seem to love it and others seem to hate it. Don't forget that many have been big RR fans and feel hurt (rightly so) at such a dramatic change in model. Others may be pimps and are happy to drop $100s on virtual engines. Probably the biggest component is that its not officially released yet. It was even pulled from the front page of the Aussie app store this morning. There a bucket load of features missing and TSM seems a bit off. It feels more and more like a beta.

This is going to be a highly divisive game one way or the other so make sure you are playing Enya before posting impressions

Respect level +100 for mentioning Enya. Very few know of her.

Guys, if you haven't, go listen to May It Be. A work of bliss.

Edit: btw you make no mention of the shitty AI (CPU or TSM). nor of the fact some elements in a true sim racer like slipstreaming (it is so friggin boring sitting behind a car for one whole KM on SPa or Panaroma).

Selling 75 million records is very few?

Also, what repairs are instant? The psychical damage ones? They still take time for me and I've updated.

Ya well they were instant for a few hours. When EA decided it was enough of fun time for us, they reverted back. Like giving candy to a child and then snatching it back just before the child reaches the good part.

And I never knew she sold 75m copies. All I know is that no one that I know of has heard of her. Plus she aint mainstream.
