IMO this is a bloody fun game. Everyone in the US should be amped. There are huge omissions the dark shadow EA greed can be felt but there is a whole lot of awesome here

    :)

Just in relation to questions about progress saves and Cloud cell. It is the same save system that RR2 had. Its essentially a form of iCloud.
On this game it will synchronise over game center account, not through the iCloud part of your settings.
It is not properly implemented yet and is one of the server stresses that is being tested by this pre release.
It will be up and running properly by the 28th, possibly through the same process in which they tweaked the timers. More likely on an update.

So anyone planning to download on their local store after the 28th, make sure and update to the latest NZ version when its released, play a bit, ensure you are signed into gamecenter and allow a period of time for a sync to occur.
Then when you delete it from device before downloading local version, be sure that when it asks if you want to remove from gamecenter, select keep.

There is also a possibility of an option in the settings being added where you will have the choice to upload a save to cloudcell.
If that comes in, which it probably will, there will also be an option to download your save to device.

It'll become clearer closer to the 28th. But play away, there will be some option in place to keep progress.
Just don't delete NZ version until you've updated to the final release using that store.

It's part of the reason why I would prefer to pay premium for this game then this IAP stuff, the racing part is really good outside of some dumb AI moments.

Plus, you do earn just by finishing at all so its worth it to keep going.

    Correct.
It basically gets you to go back, play against their time and you'll get extra cash for every one of your friends times that you beat when you replay it.
A real handy way of boosting your bank and rank.

Well, ending my second evening playing this without having to pause playing to wait for repairs, and still totally addicted and loving it! And that's with no cheating/hacks, or nothing spent on IAP's.

    Happy days :)

    Edit:
Also just want to add- yes it is lacking features compared to RR2, but heck imo the gameplay is so much better due to the better more realistic handling of the cars. I'm sticking with this one!

Thanks for that, you've put my mind at rest. I started panicking when I saw people asking that I'd lose my progress. lol

    No problem.
I'll be testing it on my own devices after the international release (mid day Thursday uk time) and I'll post how effective it was at that stage. So if anybody wants to hold off, I'll take one for the team and let ye know how it goes.

    I am amped, believe me.

Two questions: what are the proper settings to enable the most realistic handling and driving feel; and do the different cars actually accelerate and handle accurately? I suppose that last is a question for those who play both RR3 and Gran Turismo/Forza, but does a Miata or M3 in RR3 run like its equivalent in the console games?

Oh, one more question: how are the graphics on an iPad 3? Thanks!

I need some more friends who play RR3 on my gamecenter list, the cash bonus is worth it! Feel free to add me (name in signature) i've raced quite a few of the first 3 series groups.

I'm starting to warm to it now the repair / service times are improved.

Yes the game when you're in the single car is frustrating ... but be patient with it ... if you lose a race, re-run it .. you get different opponents and the dynamic is either easier or harder ...

Having started playing yesterday like everyone else .... i'm now running 4 cars, Ford Focus maxed out, 350Z maxed out, Shelby 500 with couple tweaks and a stock mclaren (bought with gold saved by levelling and never skipping timers)

Race wins are still a bit mean even on the mclaren races ... only getting 5 - 7k / win

But even if you know you've made a mess and done a big crash or whatever, i tend to still finish the race as even finishing last tends to cover the costs more or less

Getting friends on gamecentre is useful too ... more friends you beat in a race means more bonus cash ... beating 2 just gave me 1500 extra for the event.

I think the AI balance needs tweaking ... dislike it when a TSM car slams into the back of you or simply doesn't give you the cars width going into a turn even if you've been alongside them all down a straight but that can be fixed.

No problem guys. Don't forget I will test if its working properly on the 28th.
I'm sure it will be but it always better to be safe.
Might be afternoon UK time before I get a chance but will definitely post on it.

When you boot the game up it does this shot of your last use car then goes directly to the career page. Its a great shot but kinda pointless. I'd like to think in the final version this will be the main menu. There will be 5 options:

    1. Career-as is but without TSM and different difficulty settings. Also includes qualifying.

    2. Multiplayer-Standard mp plus TSM. Leaderboards for tracks

    3. Settings- As is but ability to keep menu music but disable in game tunes

    4. Gallery- can view and share replays. Plus on top of the concept art there is a additional gallery of Natalie Portman. Every NP pic is available with separate IAPs

    5. Store-Standard purchases with added ability to "sponsor" a EA executive. This sponsor feature gives users the chance to help pay off EA employees Porche's quicker then it takes to buy one in RR3. The user is also able to view progress charts on their sponsored executive which can be purchased via IAP

Ok I may or may not have just smoked a whole bunch of crack. Soz
