Waiting for crap to happen just sucks what you gonna do when you cant adjust the time anymore on the device ya your waiting or forking money over if you dont have gold coins...

Just tried to service my car, first car in the game. It told me it was going to take 6hours and 45 minutes to complete and that was after only 5 races.

Deleted and left a 1 star review.

    First world problems, amirite??

There are people dying of malaria and starvation out there and playing Real Racing 3 isn't nearly as bad as those things!

(PS EA/Firemonkeys if you want to put that quote in the app store description, feel free)

  4. This is almost unbelievable, so for two days, you can't use those cars, no matter what? And do coins for repairs vary by far if you don't want to wait? I saw on some screenshots it said to by pass the repairs it was 11 gold or something, the good prices on these cars must be different right? Or the same 11 coins?

  5. I really am hoping it will change before it hits the big markets like the US. I don't really mind inapps to buy better cars, that seems natural, but I sure hope they take out these wait timers. I played one game a long time ago, forgot what it was, and at first liked the game, until the waits got to be 15 minutes between every game or pay more dollars for inapps. Deleted it and took it off my log sheet, but this brings back memories of those bad experiences with wait timers. Blah!

That was CSR Racing. I did the very same thing. The wait got unbearable and I deleted the game.

There is heaps of flaming in their forums too and I bet they are all over this thread.

If I could get one thing changed for official release it would be a separation of career and MP. Or maybe it would be Leaderboards. Nah probably I'd prefer a chance to qualify for races.

Perhaps those cunning kids at EA just put the excessive waiting in RR3 to allow us enough time to fully articulate our opinions on sites that promote honest views such as TA.

it runs just fine. It takes longer to load vs my iPhone 5 for sure though. Racing seems to be just fine though. You will notice a little frame rate drop in a cluster of a large field, but it isn't messing up the gameplay.

Here are two shots I took of each one. Ignore the damage to my green Focus lol.

    Spoken like a true man!

At least, give us the option to totally disable TSM and create a "proper" dynamic/relative AI. This is a game breaking element later on and am amazed some don't feel it at all. And I may be pushing a bit here, but 2/3 difficulty settings like in RR2.

I read earlier on that people are happy to race and get 6th, 8th or 10th places with the human TSM AI streaking far ahead with much much better since you get $ anyways. But that is just wrong, no?

I'm confused why this game is seemingly getting a free pass with its freemium model, even though it is legitimately extorting the consumer for money (because who has the patience to wait 15 minutes for a digital oil change, among other more severe time limits?)... yet Final Fantasy: ATB gets lambasted universally, across the board for having a terrible IAP model?

It seems to me that Real Racing 3's business model is infinitely more offensive and expensive than the one for ATB. Yet ,we aren't harping on Real Racing 3 like we were for Final Fantasy: ATB.

I know there are some naysayers, and I am certainly one of them. But it seems like the opinions that do matter, are kind of... being too nice with this game. As far as I know, Real Racing has barely changed since the first game. At first glance, and honestly after watching many many videos, Real Racing 3 seems to be more of the same, but now with a double-edged sword: a freemium model.

It's free to get in, but if you want to stay and enjoy yourself, you have to resort to buying IAPs and end up spending way more money throughout the lifetime of your game, than if it were just a premium title.

The psychology of money is fascinating, but it's also damn frustrating. I don't understand how people can be such idiots sometimes.

Oh no, people were harping on it. Until it seems the mods removed the posts (which probably number more than 50% of what was initially here) to the "Real Racing 3 Rants, Conspiracy Theories, and Other Weird Complaints". Which to me is dumb cause the IAP model used in games is a legitimate point to debate on these days, just like gameplay, graphics, controls etc.

I wouldn't know what ATB was and I don't do FInal Fantasy stuff, but what I do know is -REMOVED content by AUTHOR-

  12. The other negative posts and rants are over here.

yeah... I know. I just really don't want to admit that firemonkeys have truly gone to the dark side. it's sad really that this is the future of iOS gaming. I think I'll just stick with RR2 for my fix of racing sims for now.

The game is freaking amazing and I can't believe it's running on my phone. Just did the speed event on Mount Panorama. The course is instantly memorable for me - winding up the mountain, taking the turn at the top, then flying back down. I'm glad they introduced this course with a speed event as it highlighted a key course feature.

  15. It's NOT Firemonkeys, it's EA!!!

EA destroyed Chillingo after they bought it, and they are destroying Firemonkeys big time. Thank god there is still a Gameloft or things would be really bad. I really don't think that firemonkeys wanted all this timers and inapps in there. They want a good game, but they were overruled I am sure by EA which money is their bottom line.

Firemonkeys needed someone to fund this AMBITIOUS game it costs a lot to have REAL cars especially exotics in the game,And real tracks, and you can tell the game engines been overhauled, they needed a publisher to help pay for this stuff and EA is who they got, I really do think the poor reviews will either get the timers out of the game or they will just sell it outright.

bad reviews means bad press which means lower sells, they want to make money this is not the way to do it, i wouldn't even mind it if there was no wait timers at all... i shouldn't have to edit my clock to make it work.

that's why the released it to test market areas first i believe firemint is a Australian!(thanks RIP73) company? see how people liked this and they can see PEOPLE H A T E it and loath it...

Seeing everyone here defending Firemonkeys is ridiculous. I know, EA is a big time villain, but what makes you think Firemonkeys were FORCED into this?

You know, I wouldn't start to go down that road, its not really game relevant and belongs in the rant thread as opposed to a games impression thread.
It does sound slightly Defred/whatever user name he has today ish.

Anyway, keep it to game impressions, not administrator impressions.
