And BTW. racing without internet is better because you will race with easy bots and you can stay on podium stairs With live opponents is much harder.
so if you do create a NZ account from the US to dl this, make sure you open it up first while on the NZ account so it dl the ghosts... then exit of the app switch back to your us account and you have to turn airplane mode on or disconnect from your wireless or it crashes this is probably because us servers are prob not up... loving this...the paywall stuff kinda sucks but once you get 3 cars you will always have something to do.
oh god your gonna wish you didnt do that, when i gave out my gamecenter name i never have gotten so many invites LOL! never again LOL
I played this last night for awhile. I feel like I'm playing against the IAP system more than I am the races themselves, especially with the randomness of each race and its opponents. I like playing circuits, or at least a set of races, where I am racing the same pool of drivers, at least in single player when moving through a career. For me, I like to know who I am racing against so I can be happy when I beat them. I don't like the mixing of multiplayer and single player, as I feel it detracts from both. Why bother with AI assisted multiplayer ghost cars? Who the heck thought of that idea? The guy who has to pay for the multiplayer servers, and/or the programmers to build an AI system? Either make AI cars that know how to drive, or make an actual multiplayer game. Or both! Here I feel like we kind of have a half-assed mix of both. And I am far from being an EA hater, I just don't like where all this is going. I'm confused as to how this whole "Time Shifted AI controlled Opponents" thing works. The other cars seem to drive as if I'm not even on the track. Slamming me, not moving when I obviously have the line, and have had it for several turns. We all start in last place, right? Yet there is a full field of cars...I dunno, it's weird. I don't feel like I'm actually racing anybody! It's like a field of cars that don't even react as if I'm on the track. Kind of an empty feeling. Yay I beat John Smith, but who is he and when did he actually race, 3 days ago? I dunno man, there's something wrong. Is the AI forced to have every car finish at it's original time, even if it has to plow through you to do it? Honest question, I'm curious as to how they did this. Well it's an interesting release at least, and I'll play with it some more. I think the timers are too intrusive though. I spend more time trying to figure out how to keep playing as I do actually...you know, playing. Even if you can manage things enough to never pay to play, it takes fun out of the game for me. Managing IAP is a whole game on its own. I guess I'm old...aside from add-ons, spending real money has no place in a video game. I don't want to think about real money, or real life for that matter, when playing a video game. Perhaps they will make some adjustments before the actual release on the 28th. The game is getting mixed reviews on the app store. It looks great. The menus are okay, a little too much going on maybe. Too much pre-race animations to speed tap through. I mean come on, I've been waiting three hours to play, lets get to the damn race! For me, it would be a great game if they included a real multiplayer, or a real single player (both preferably), and rethought the IAP system, or at least had a maximum payout at which point you could remove the timers. There's a good game in there somewhere but it needs to be set free lol. P.S. I can change oil and do some repairs in real life faster than the pit crew in this game can. This ain't NASCAR, that's for sure. At the drag races they can rebuild the entire damn car in between runs. My pit crew is so fired!
Right, so, after a bit of time warping, I've managed to get enough gold together for the mclaren, as well as grind enough bucks for two more cars. With a stable of five, as I expected, the time wall becomes much much softer, and rotating your cars along with a strategy for racing means you can race for extended sessions without a big concern. So, what we have is a -reverse- pay wall. A pay hill if you will, either you grind and wait extensively to begin with, or you fork out, once you've got a few cars unlocked, the game becomes less brutal in its attempts to lever money from your wallet. This is insanity, it really is, if I was making a game f2p this would be the opposite of how I'd design it. I'd want the first few purchases to be quick and painless to get players hooked, this is all ass backwards, and once over the hump you can start stacking up gold slowly and then pay out for high tier upgrades and what not. Oh, and some of the courses are utter car wreckers, the ai pays no attention to you, simply driving robotically on the racing line. Forcing you to barge past and sustain damage or worse, get sideswiped by the ai who suffers no performance loss in a persistent sense. I'm genuinely disappointed, this game has promise, and occasionally when it all comes together, it's fantastic, but the game is far, far too mean spirited.
Just saw service screenshots on the internet of some of the high tier cars Those bitches take 2 (yes 48 hours) full days to do service/repairs Omfg, i thought 6 hours was already extremely long....
Funny yeah it does when I left you for dust as well. . But serious having friends does give a boost in cash, I can now begin to understood a quote from somewhere of "you always be doing something in the game". For e if its not racing new events its doing the old ones to beat my friends again, which I add is possble on a car needing repair.
I feel the same way, the game has become better with 4-5 cars but the AI on some tracks feel like they are out to drink your blood if you go near them. Services just seem too long IMO, I would like to drive the same car more then a few times before it had to go into 6 hour mode, hopping between 4 different cars so often isn't that nice especially when you go from slow to super fast to slow to medium to slow again.
Is it possible that V1.0.1 addressed some issues and became more liberal in this sense? I still have 1.0.0.
Nope. I downloaded it on the PC/itunes on the NZ account. Connected my phone to the PC and synced the device while it was still on the US account. No issues whatsoever for me. Gimme a few and I'll boot it up on the 4.
I am totally perplexed how people are saying having 3 cars allows them to play for 3 hours bla bla bla. I have 7 cars (6 usable) and managing them smartly, I can only get an hour and a half gametime max before all are in the repair shop. I would love to see videos of how you're doing this. And yeah, when I have damage or my oil is low, I don't repair just yet. I wait till it affects performance. Maybe I am too good so the car needs servicing more often? You know, more tougher on the engines and tyres.
My MP412C which I bought with saved gold (it is considered a better car than my others) already took close to 10 hours. So my worst fears have been realized.
TWO whole days to not use one fake car in a free video game on your cellphone?! WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END?!!!1
Using a foreign account? I'm not sure exactly coz I'm not willing to buy the big cars yet but the timing seems more extreme in some cases regardless of car model Looking forward to the 28th to see what shape the final product is in
