When are we ever gonna get true F1 cars for Christ sake? I'm tired of all these road cars that feel and look like clones. Do they need special licenses to put something that looks and plays like an F1 car? That can't be too difficult to ask for. I really enjoyed the open air and lemans update. So more variety would be good.
Yes, they do special licenses to put in F1 cars. And yes, it is extremely difficult to negotiate a licensing deal of that nature. Multiple manufacturers, multiple sponsors, multiple cars, multiple tracks, multiple drivers and multiples of numerous other things all have to agree to any licensing through the governing body of F1, which in itself is an extraordinarily difficult organisation to negotiate with. They also have to determine will it be this years cars, last years cars, next years cars, what sponsorship deals were in place or will be in place at any time space they choose. And numerous other factors. Along with that, F1 likes to be the star of the show and doesn't like sharing so whether or not they'd go in to a game with road supercars and Le Mans racers will always cause further headaches. So yeah, it's very difficult. But, it is being looked at and attempts are being made to bring it to the game in the future. I wouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon though due to the complexities involved but the indications are strong that it is definitely the intent.
Thanks for the insight Rip. I know it may be quite a daunting task obtaining an F1 license but I am more interested in an F1 car than it's teams so I assume Firemonkey can create cars that look and play like F1 cars using fantasy teams and avoid involving anything that is official F1. I mean they could even put F3 cars, GP2 cars or IndyCars which look like F1 cars with slight diffrences. I mean Grid Autosport did it without using official F1 Cars. We'll I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I'm wondering if they have plans to add SuperGT cars, plus Maseratis and the Venom GT. Anyhow, just advancing to 170 through 173 awarded me 30 gold coins each time.
Because of what they are going for with the game, the Real element, they would go for the legitimate item rather than one like it. Don't worry though, I'm fairly confident they will make it in because it is EA licensing teams doing that part of the work and they do know how to do that. It'd still be every difficult and could go sideways but I'm still confident some form of F1 cars will make it in to the game in the future, but again, when would be the big question. @obsidian, haven't heard anything about superGT but I wouldn't rule it out. Maserati would be a virtual guarantee and the Venom GT would definitely be a target but I haven't heard anything about that one.
Has anyone else noticed the level up bar has much reduced increase from fame won from races. Just started occurring last night and has continued today. I'm on level 102 and have been enjoying the large amounts of gold from leveling up. But all of a sudden now the Level Up Bar barely increases from fame. Example, I just won a race and earned ~8000 fame but level up bar barely increased from it. The increase was equivalent to ~1500 fame. Before 8000 fame would have been a big increase in level up bar.
Fame needed to Level up Yes I have noticed that as of today, the fame needed to level up has vastly increased. This has almost completely undermined the improvements of the recent update, and without a commensurate increase in the gold rewards for completing each 25% of a series, makes me wonder again if there's any point continuing. I am at the Speed Demons stage with enormously expensive gold cars to save up for, which was feasible with the increased gold for levelling up, but now I really am not so sure. Firemonkeys you got a lot of kudos and respect from gamers for increasing the gold rewards for levelling up: don't sabotage the goodwill you've earned.
Mentioned earlier in this thread that 56,000 fame for every level up. Now I'm guessing 200,000 fame to level up. Interesting how this was done without an update.
So, sadly it seems that Firemonkeys couldn't let players enjoy the last update too much. "Here have a heap of gold for leveling up.. "How good is that, maybe they are listening to the feedback.... "What players are happy!!! Need to do something about that, let's make it 4 times harder to level up, that oughta f#!k em. " thanks once more Firemonkeys (shaking head).
It is a real shame, and it basically makes Fame redundant, because if I need to win the Endurance Kings 10-lapper ten times to go up a level (c.250,000 fame needed for me), I can't imagine how long it would take to level up driving in normal events - you know, in an attempt to complete them etc etc. If the 10-lapper became an anomaly that removed many of the incentives for people to buy gold, why not just lower the fame earned for it? I submitted that as a Support Request https://firemonkeys.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/99747 but am not overly optimistic about getting a reply, seeing as they closed my last one for no apparent reason.
They've replied but it's a generic autoreply so far. I get the feeling that they may have adjusted this downwards again a little, as the fame needed to go up to level 170 was closer to 200,000 than the 250,000 that I thought it was before. Maybe that's just inaccurate estimation by me but I thought I'd air this in case others found the same thing.
This quadrupling of fame needed to level up has me slightly concerned since it was done without any update. This means they can at any time now make things worse and they can do it in such small and subtle ways that next time we probably won't even notice. I'm down to just playing one race a day now just to keep my daily bonus and once I reach another gold digging car purchase I'll probably stop.
This from Firemonkeys on the My Real Racing forums: Hi Racers, We recently made some changes to the Fame levelling system that we wanted to chat to you about. As you know, we recently increased the amount of Gold being paid out for levelling up in response to feedback, and it was something we were really happy to do. It worked really great for the first 100 Driver Levels, but after that it had a pretty wild impact on the rest of the game, with a lot of Gold flooding into the economy. As it turns out, the combination of increased gold, the current Fame system, and some rather lucrative events led to a situation where levelling at this point in the game became faster than it was meant to be. We felt adjusting the Fame requirements was the best way to re-balance the game, and the change has been pushed out to everyone. Depending on where you were Driver Level wise, the impact of this change will vary. The Gold payouts have not been touched at this time, and well continue to watch how Racers play with this new system, making further changes accordingly. In Live Service games, feedback is incredibly important to making better games, so whether you give that feedback by simply playing the game or leaving feedback on one of our channels, its all vital to understanding the impact changes have. Well have some great content coming next update based on some of the feedback you provided after The Road to Le Mans, and well look forward to seeing you on the track when the update arrives! - The Real Racing 3 Team https://firemonkeys.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202590334-Changes-to-fame
